What is a GAKU Counter?

I've been following along some other threads, and I think I get the just of it, but I'd like some detail about what a Counter is for and it's use.

I'm guessing they count the balls played and payed out. IIRC correctly, one pic I saw had 4 displays, one of which looked like a clock or timer.

What are they used for? Tournament play?

The GAKU counter was made and sold by a member here. It has two sensors that detect when a ball passes in front of them. When set up on a machine you use one senor to detect shot balls and one to detect balls won. The four displays track the following. One is a timer, one is a running total of balls shot, one is a total of balls one. I have mine set to credit me 15 points for each win ball on my Powerflash as that is the payout. You can change that setting with 3 dip switches on the board. The fourth display is your score minus balls shot to determine if you are winning or losing. I would post some pictures but am on my iPad right now. I may have a video posted today of the counter on my Powerflash if I get time.
