Default Seeking Opinions: Keep or Lose the plastic over the plexiglass?

As I mentioned before, for some reason on my Nishijin A machine the original plastic covering the inner plexiglass is still (mostly) intact. I have left it this way all these years wondering if it would somehow increase the value/desirability of my machine to a collector.

Now I am looking at cleaning the machine up, and realizing that this plastic is not the most attractive thing, since it does hang off of the plexiglass in the corners:

So, the options I've thought of are as follows:
    A. Continue to leave it alone.
    B. Remove the plastic.
    C. Remove and store the original plexiglass with the plastic intact and get new plexiglass cut.

I am leaning toward B or C, what do you think? Does the plastic add to the collectability, or is it a waste of time to preserve?

Personally, I would replace the covered plexi with a piece of glass cut at Lowes (usually only around $5). Then I would hold on to the piece of plexi leaving the wrapping on it. If you ever decided to sell you could include it. Might mean something to the buyer.

Just peel it off. It doesn't add much value to the meachine. It actaully makes it so playing it is a little harder. (Due to the lettering and possible creases in it) So peel it off as it is doing nothing other than making the machine less attractive.

I would suggest getting a new piece though as that plexi is about 1/16" and you really should have 1/8" in the slot. (Glass or plexi makes do difference just get what you like better, or both )
