    Default Hopper Refill Mod

Made a Mod to my Pachislos this weekend in order to refill the hopper without having to open the door. It started with a funnel I found at the dollar store. I used 2" PVC pipe with two 45 elbows and a couple of straps. I didn't glue the PVC together so I can remove the extension into the machine if I need to slide out the hopper. The funnel is also removable. Total cost was about $6 per machine. Works great and now I'm working on a way in getting tokens to the front tray without having to open the door.

you might not have needed that last 45, then it can be glued together.

    Great idea!

Neat idea on how to fill the hopper up

I am also working on a mod to get tokens out of the hopper with out opening the door. On my machine the hopper motor is 24vdc. I picked up a ac/dc power supply, that I can connect off of the main 24vac transformer. 24vac in to 24vdc out to the motor. I'm waiting on a keyswitch that I've ordered. On the front on my machine, where the key is to open the door, I have a couple of holes that are filled with a plug. I got a keyswitch to fit these holes. The keyswitch will control the power to the motor. I'm also going to add a couple of diodes to isolate the extra power supply from the main power supply.

The hopper motor on my machine running at 24vdc pulls 0.2 amps. I picked up a 1 amp ac/dc power supply which is more than enough.

When done, when I need more tokens I just need to turn the keyswitch to dispense the tokens

I'll post pics when done. It will be a few weeks though.

Thank! I had to add the last 45 as sometimes the tokens would hit the side of the hopper and bounce out into the machine.

interesting idea, but I think the sensors in the hopper might cause it to error as the machine will "think your cheating".

I think one or two people have done this mod in the past year or so..I can't remember if they had to add some sort of reset switch too because of errors..Maybe I can see if I can find some of the threads tomorrow..

Either use a double pole switch or install a relay so when the key is turned or your voltage is sent to the motor. The output signal from the sensor is blocked. Or what our tech guys would do is on the same relay cut the motor power feed from the processor instead of using diodes. So that would be 5 pole. 2 sets of positive and minus motor feeds and photocell signal .
