One other "uncommon" fix I've seen... There is an axle on the bottom of the jackpot arm with four screws in it. It can only go in one spot because the screws go into the wood and there is only one spot it can go. It is behind a dust cover that is held in place with two nails. If you removed that axle for cleaning; try flipping it over. I've seen that axle bent a little bit and it works one way but not the other. When I clean model B's now, I mark the top for re-installation purposes.

    another thought..

went out and found one of my untouched machiens.. it was perfect..

the point at the jackpot where the dump mech is was totaly dirty.. used some fine emory cloth to clean the plastic and give it a smooth feel.. as you can see in the pics befor i sanded the plastic how dirty it was..

might be a point in your machine to give a bit of attention as well

I have played around with the machine more and after watching it closely, my feeling is that the ball triggering the payout is getting stuck on the end of the "A" arm.

I am sure a slight adjustment to the end of the "A" arm should make a difference but I cannot figure out how to get to it.

pull the screws from the pivot point..

un hook the rod that runs up and down..

rotate the jackpot arm 1/4 of a turn and slide it out of the slot..

Ok looks like the problem is solved. I was on the phone with Scott (Naha13) and he was offering some great suggestions when I dropped a ball on the floor and watched it roll to the end of the room. That's when it hit me. My game room is in my garage and the floor is sloped. The shelves I put in are level but the table I set up to work on the machine is not.

I put a level on top of the machine and then leveled it with some shims. It is working great now.

Now to get back to cleaning the cel and polishing the nails. Hopefully will pick up the bulbs tomorrow and I should be in business.

Great to hear! I was thinking of getting my Model B out and trying to figure it out. I was laying low, because it is a PowerFlash...but the problem wasn't PowerFlash related. Glad you got it worked out! Now its time to level that bench.

The bench is just a folding table I set up to work on the machine so I could get to the front and back easier.

Got the nails polished. Still a little more cleaning to do on the cel.

Aaron - you need one of these 3D laser levels so you can re-level your room

There is no leveling the floor, it is sloped due to being a garage. The shelves and bar I put in are leveled though. Just didn't cross my mind when I set up the temporary table.

Hoping to finish cleaning the cel tonight and pick up the bulbs on the way home and install them. Then comes the Cheat switch and Gaku counter.

I finished cleaning the cel today. Turned out really nice.

Also just finished adding the cheat button. Very easy modification.

I have not mounted the button. I just have it loose right now, but it works perfectly.

I will start on the Gaku counter next.

The machine seems to be playing perfectly.

Holy smokes, that's the most tulips I've ever seen on a vintage pachinko machine. I love it!
