Well... I didn't realize that I would be making room as quickly as I did but anyway... (another project unceremoniously punted back to the shop)

Kings & Queens is in the house. Yaaaaaay!!!

Found a fairly decent example - price and distance within reason - and here it is. Yeehaw!!!

Hot Hand, Top Speed, and Skill Pool there to keep it company.

I needed another project like the proverbial hole-in-the-head but this here game works so it ain't really a project then... right? That next box of stuff from Pinball Resource is for.. uh.. maintenance. That's it. Maintenance. Rubbers for Laser Cue and some light sockets for Future Spa to go with a batch of stepper springs and bumper skirts and...

I would love to have an electro mechanical pin (or two!), except I never see one close enough at a good price...and space to display/play it/them. Not to mention they probably take WAY longer to restore. But old pinball is way cool! And you don't hear "what the H@!! is that!" from everyone.
Nice looking machine! I'm sure you will find a reason to tear into it...we always do!

    Whaaaaat!!!

I couldn't tell you how many times I've seen an interesting pin at a steal price only to say "CURSES!!! It's in @^%#$ OHIO!!! There goes that deal.".

K&Q came from Portland - a mere 280 mile round trip. Other games came from Seattle, Spokane, Boise, Sacramento, San Jose. My scrounging range has expanded some with the acquisition of an economical pin-hauler.

Guess I've been spending too much time looking for pachinko's, and not enough time (or space or money) for pinball.

There's deals out there but you have to search. I see a fair number of EM pins going for around 200 bucks on CL. Could be they need a lot of work but many times people just want them out. Keep in mind though that sometimes cheap prices are posted to attract attention and "OBO" means two things: Best offer below OR above the asking price. People always assume it means the former.
As for restoration, yes it can take a long time. But restoring them to play as designed is typically far easier and cheaper than cosmetic restoration. These machines are built extremely well and parts rarely break even after all these years. It's almost always just a switch or two out of adjustment. Also many, many people collect EM pins. There's nothing like them and theyre fun and interesting on so many levels. All this means there's plenty of support out there in the form of forums, dozens of yearly conventions, parts companies, etc.

To my fellow pinball guys: When transporting a game do not expose the playfield to direct sunlight either in the back of a pick up or in the back of a SUV. Cover the playfield and the back glass or you will ruin both. I have done it and you want to cry when you see what happens.
