Thundr Explosion by Macy. Machine will play but not right

Hi everybody, Im new to the world of Pachislo so bear with me. i recently acquired a Thunder Explosion Type A by Macy. The machine was working beautifully until I entered the bonus round The counter got to 50 then I got a HE error. I checked the hopper and it had tokens in it so I tried a reset of the machine. i must of reset it wrong because now when you put in tokens it does not register them but makes the noise they were in also the lines do not light up now either. You can spin the reels and stop them but no credits show. When I did the reset i heard some weird clicking sounds. Can anyone help?

We can surely point you in the right direction.

If the machine plays fine, up to 50 credits, and then the hopper needs to payout but you get a "HE" error code. Most likely you have a bad or dirty sensor in the hopper. There is a recent thread on this. Please read through it, it tells how to reset your machine and what to do and look for, as far as the hopper sensor.

Update to my problem< I found a bad fuse which I replaced , Game started working again. Was playing with it hit the bonus again, the counter got to 50 and again with the HE error, I tookout the hopper and checked for a jammed token nothing. Tried the reset button it will reset for 2 seconds then the HE error comes up again. Any Clue??

I'm in Greenfield. I hit the sensor with some duster. Would it be better to take it out and clean with a q-tip and alcohol? I reset it again but ended up blowing another fuse. Its working now. Like I said its behaving strangely

Does it spit out a token before going into error or just straight to error? If no token first. Check to see if the motor in the hopper is spinning. Either put a small dab of ink or marker and see if it moves. Or just watch. With the power off. Can you turn the dial in the bottom of the hopper by hand, and if so, does a token fly out the front.

thank you both for the welcome. It does dispense a few tokens before it errors out. I changed to to only dispense tokens and not give credit but haven't been able to hit the 3- 7'sagain. That is the only time it seems to give an error. Someone has done things to this machine before( at least thats how it appears) the wires to the speakers have been cut. ( I soldered and shrink tubed back) the overflow tub is missing and a part that is attached to the lock mech is gone. There is a small plug there but nothing to plug in. I think I'm going to have to clean the crap out of it. It is pretty dusty. I did use some duster on the sensor but think im going to pull it and give it a swab

Yep, most machines need a good cleaning. The speaker wires may of been cut for aftermarket volume controls. These machines tend to be really loud. Usually the overflow tub is missing.

If you could post some pictures of your hopper. Top, bottom, side view and the connection. Also the inside of the machine, power supply, etc.. If you can't get it going I may have some parts.

ALright Wayne I appreciate it. This is my first machine. I bought it at an Auction on a whim and the price was right. The Auctioneer couldn't get it to work at all. I like to tinker and said WTH.

well cleaned the hopper and that took care of it for a little bit until I ran it out of tokens put more in and it went acouple more rounds then errored out on me again. I think Im gonna have to clean it again, but what is the best way to clean the tokens. I think that is what is dirtying it up

I clean mine in the dishwasher. My wife picked up a lingerie bag, at Walmart. Only .99 cents.

Works pretty good. Gets them clean and dries them also.
