Exclamation Mini Android HDMI TV Box

I was not sure where to put this thread but since it plugs directly into a HDMI port on your TV, I thought I would put it here.
I just ordered one of these -

    iMito MX1 Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Dual Core TV BOX RK3066 1.6Ghz Cortex A9 1GB RAM 8G ROM HDMI Silver - GeekBuying.com

Very intriguing little device, here is a review on you tube -

iMito MX1 With Built In Bluetooth Android Jelly Bean 4.1.1 Review - YouTube

Basically it is a android tablet that uses a mouse on your TV.
I plan on putting it on my TV in the basement to play Netflix etc.
It comes straight from China, but I payed a little extra for express shipping.

    The Imito MX1 arrived today
I have not had much of a chance to check it out because we are getting ready for our party tonight.
But first impressions are excellent, right out of the box and hooked to the TV it works perfectly.
The only thing is my wifi in the basement is kind of sketchy so I was getting an intermittent signal.
This thing is blazing fast, faster than my iPad 2.
I hooked a USB mouse to it and it works great, you really don't need one of those all in one fly controls...you can just use the on screen keyboard with the mouse.
I will give it more if a run tomorrow when I have more time.

I am on my MX1 right now surfing with live wallpaper running in the background.
It is barely warm to the touch, the aluminum body seems to dissipate heat pretty good.

The only knock on this thing in my opinion , is the wifi reception. I don't think that it is defective or anything, I just think the wifi antenna inside is so small.
I wanted to use it on my basement TV, so I had to move my wireless router down there. It is working great now.
I did buy a 2.4ghz wireless keyboard & mouse combo to use with it and the keyboard works fine but the mouse does not so not sure what is happening there.
I will have to get another wireless mouse to try, but the wired USB mouse works fine.
Here is a another website that has more info about these-

Might have to get one of these. Just trying to decide if I would use it much. Usually at home I am on the iPad or laptop.

It would be cool to have PachiTalk on the 73" TV

I was not sure how I was going use it either but now I will use it as sort of a media/game center on the basement TV.
I have installed some game apps as well as Netflix.
Some friends came over last night and were watching a bunch of YouTube videos on it.
Most blue ray players can get the regular apps I think, but the added dimension of the Internet browser is great on the TV.

That does sound good. I have looking for a way to set up something in my game room to be basically a jukebox. I have a hard drive with over 10,000 song files on it. Might see if I can use this to do the job.

It should work, just get a powered USB port so you can attach multiple USB devices.
I bought a 7 port unit on eBay for $3-4 bucks, I just got it today buy I have not tried it yet.
I do have a separate computer down there that is a dedicated jukebox running software called Album Player with M-Audio AV40 studio monitor speakers.

AlbumPlayer - Jukebox for Music Collector and Audiophile
    M-AUDIO - Studiophile AV 40 - Monitor Speakers for Professional-Quality Media Creation

The speakers really crank and sound fantastic, and the Album Player software is awesome
