Derby Boy won't start & Reels don't spin on Sammy derby boy Pachislo

Hi everyone,

New to the scene, trying to help a friends Mom with her Sammy.

I have run the reset procedures, read the manuals and tried everything I could think of to get it to work. Had a coin jam and was able to remove it. LEDs light up when I push buttons. During reset, the lever is depressed for 5 seconds and the led does change from 1 to 0, so I suspect the lever is working properly, yet sloppy. I reseated the cables on the boards behind the reels. Fuses all look good. Lights are all on. Coins are excepted and credited.

One thing I was wondering, is the a minimum number of coins needed?

Thanks. Will it not spin the reels if it can't payout? Could you give me a min-max range?

Any other possible causes why the reels won't spin ?

minimum is 1 or 2 but when your a winner and the machine tries to pay it will error..

insert 50 tokens so your credits are maxed out.. dump a hundred more in the hopper and see if it will play

Hello,

I am trying to help a friends mom who has a sammy derby boy slot machine her son bought for her. It worked for years and then stopped when some hit a jackpot.

I have tried everything I could find and now at the point where everything is working except, when I put in 3 tokens, that are recognized visual and audibly, the start light does not illuminate and the reels never start.

I replaced the fuse on the stop board and have reset the machine. I also cleared a jam and the hopper is full. I also put 50 coins in the machine, all recognized and still nothing.

Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

I would check the Bet buttons and/or the Spin Lever. One of them may be stuck.

Hi Thanks. Ok, so the max bet button looks like it has been beat down. I disconnected it and still not spinning. I figured that I could take the component out of it. So, will disconnecting the wire behind the button work? I also went through a troubleshooting guide and test all of the buttons and led's. Everything worked.

I have exactly the same problem ...I am going to pull my max button out of the machine and try and reconnect and see if that helps

Ok, after further testing and investigation, I found that the start light will not light when it should. So, after putting in the 3rd coin and each coin light lights up, from my understanding, the start led should light and the reels should start spinning.

So, does anyone know what makes the start light illuminate? Any ideas what I could try next?

OK, finally getting back to it. Still have had no luck getting the start LED to light.

Roger, did you have any luck?

Does anyone have schematics or experience troubleshooting the component level on slots?
