As it has a ball tank on the rear and 2 trays on the front. I'd say it pays out balls. But still a way cool machine. 2 matrix each, one each side.

It does look like a very cool machine. I do not have much of a toy budget right now with the holidays. I do hope a member gets this one. I would love to see more about it.

Well no, not really. The Japanese title says Arrange Ball and it's also written on the machine. I think your safe

The general convention here is that an arrangeball uses tokens and an arepachi does not. Could be that arepachi is the encompassing term of which an arrangeball is a type. Or the other way around. Who knows?

In my opinion, this is an arepachi. The reason I used the word arrangeball in the title is that this is how this listing appears and is why I used quotes.

Well I thought I would throw in my two cents.

To me an arrangeball is a machine that takes and plays tokens. A real arrangeball to " ME " does not have an electric shooter. Of course I have never had an arrangeball with an electric shooter but I did have Indiana Jones and I was impressed with the music not the play.

As far as just for me I really enjoy the manual shooter and the sixteen balls plus replays and the game is over and the score is made. Simple and addicting.

Are there only 16 balls in the machine total? Hmmm well, that sounds like an arrangeball. All the machines that I've ever seen that use 16 balls are manual shooters ( obviously no need for electric shooters for just 16 balls) and use tokens to pay and play. Of course I've by no means seen all the different types out there. As best I can tell the years of manufacture were from 74-84. Also they've all used 16 balls but you can change that number to change the odds.
Post some pics if ya don't mind.

No, mine has lots of balls like a regular pachinko, but you can only shoot 16 balls at a time, then your score is added up and get payouts then you can shoot 16 more..all the arepachs I've seen work that way, but I haven't seen many, so I was just asking anyone that may know if thats how they all worked..

On the older arrangeballs on most of the payout plaques on the front say that they take 16 balls. I have bought one with 26 balls in it and I have bought one with only ten in it. I am pretty sure that most all arrangeballs from the time period mentioned work that way. I will note that a couple of my machines have no ball return on them and that is all of the shots you get. Some have ball returns on the end that take alot of balls, some have ball returns on the end that actually are hard to hit, one machine I have has two ball returns one on each side about half way in and I have a couple of machines with no ball returns at all and that makes for a quick game. Except for the ball returns when playing you have to insert another token to get a set of balls which resets the machine. FYI
