Default Help with fuse, sound and contact buttons!

Hello, I’m new here and let me start out by saying – I know zero about the slot machine I own. Lol. With that said, it is a Olympia Blue Marine. It was my grandmothers and it was passed down to me. When I got it everything worked on it except for the contact buttons on the spinning wheel. Now the sound doesn’t work at all either. My first question is that is a little motherboard on the left side of the spinning wheels that has a little fuse in it, we believe that fuse is blown. Can someone tell me what this fuse controls?? Also we are having a hard time getting it out – does anyone know the number on it so we can go buy one? Also does anyone have any suggestions what could be wrong with the sound?

The "little motherboard" you are referring to is called the "Stop Board". This is what controls the reels. There is a 1 amp fuse in it. If the fuse is blown the reels will not work.

Here's some information I have on Olympia machines. Blue Marine is a 1995 model and is model #1 in the information below.

Thank you for the info, when you say if the fuse is blown the wheels won't work. Do you mean they won't work at all or they won't stop. They spin just fine but they won't stop when you push the contact buttons. Do you know what voltage it is so we can go buy one?

Correct, the stop board is what makes the reels stop. In other words, you push the stop buttons and that signal goes to the stop board and the reels stop.

It is a 1amp fuse in the stop board.

Thank you so much for your help. I will buy a fuse and replace it, I feel sure this will solve our problem and the wheel are gonna stop. Now onto the sound. Any ideas? It worked about a year ago but all the sudden just stopped.

Well, what I'd try is check the connections and sliding the volume control switch back and forth several times.

Machines that have been stored or not played for awhile tend to gather dust and moisture, depending where and how they were stored. Transporting machines, connections tend to come loose sometimes. Resetting connections sometimes fixes a problem.

Doing a "Full Reset" of the machine may also take care of the problem.

Could be a broken wire or maybe even a bad speaker.
You'll just have to check out all these possibilities.

I'am sorry, but there is no cut and dry answer. These machines are built pretty good and if maintained will last for a long time. I'd say 90% of the time the problem with a machine was a bad connection or the machine needed to be reset.

Thanks again, I pulled the fuse out this morning And will try to find a new one today. I'll look at the connections and wiring on the sound. My husband checked them the other day but we will try it again. It has been stored outside on our bar but undercover but could have got some moisture in it.

do you know how to do a full reset on it?

I took my fuse to radio shack. But they couldn't help me because I didn't know the voltage. I only knew it was a 1 amp. Do you happen to know what voltage it is, the fuse doesn't say.

    thanks. Jessica
