Default Neo Planet T machine not accepting coins

I just got a Neo Planet T Pachislo machine and I was trying to get it up and running, but it doesn't accept tokens. The machine turns on, the transparent LED screens display the start-up animation and menu (in Japanese, so I have no idea what anything says other than "exit"), the two buttons that control the menu work fine. When I try to put in a coin, it just falls down and spits it out. I wasn't sure if I had to enable something in the menu's settings to get it started up or not.

    Any suggestions?
Does anyone have a guide for this type of machine?

I can post photos if necessary.

I've done the full reset, the machine turns on, the light that says to insert coins lights up, but the coins just fall out of the machine as fast as I can put them in.

Ok, if the 'Insert Tokens' light is on the machine should be reset and ready to go.

So I'am thinking something is wrong with the coin mechanism.

First off I'am going to assume you have the correct size tokens. They should be slightly larger that a quarter.

There is a magnet in the coin mechanism that pulls a plate closed so that tokens don't fall back through into the coin tray. So lets do another reset of the machine and during the last step of the reset procedure, (turning the reset key back to "OFF", the left), listen to the coin mechanism and you should hear a "click sound", this is the plate being pulled in by the magnet.

Your coin mechanism should look similar to this one.
Baltic coin mech..jpg Check and reset all the connections on the coin mechanism. Unplug them and plug them back in. Also from looking at the picture, is yours missing any parts, compared to this one?

Alright, I was playing with it right now and was able to get some tokens working (and thus the actual game play working) by reaching around with my finger and preventing the tokens from falling (http://i.imgur.com/ZftNO.jpg).

Here's another shot of the coin mechanism: http://i.imgur.com/abqai.jpg

I feel that the panel that the magnet rests on is bent towards where the tokens get knocked and then spit out in the front tray (http://i.imgur.com/aFLtU.jpg).
I tried to bend it back and that worked for maybe 3-4 token inserts.

    Welcome to PachiTalk!

I had a similar problem with one of my machines. Wayne-Ooo was a huge help. You are definitely in good hands. Good Luck getting this up and running.

Someone in PM suggested reading the voltage on the magnet (should be 30volts), Just used the multimeter on the magnet wires and I got 29.97 volts. The plate does move in position when the machine is turned on and the magnet turns on.

Ok, first thing is I'd like to say "Great Pictures"!

So it looks as if the tokens are falling out the back. There is a "fine line" for tokens to work and also not to let other coins work. So if something is bent, and it doesn't have to be much, tokens will not be accepted. If the plate is suppose to have a slight bend in it, I don't really know. Maybe or maybe not???

To me, I'd see if I could get it to accept tokens before bending things. I'd see if the rail that the token rides on can be adjusted in any way. It would have to be raised slightly to keep tokens from falling out the back. You will notice that the token has only a small amount of metal to ride against, at the top, of the long hole in the back, where you are putting your finger at. Or maybe the rail the the token rides on is bent down slightly.

So to me the token is riding to low and the top of the token is not riding against the top piece of metal, thus falling out the back, and going into the token tray.

Another solution may be to cover the long hole in the back of the coin mechanism using scotch tape, the "shiny kind", not the disappearing kind of scotch tape. Just put the scotch tape the length of the long hole, the tape keeps tokens from falling out the back. I've used this type of mod. to allow, lets just say "smaller tokens" to work.

Is there any possible downside to blocking the long hole in the coin mechanism?

Of course. This is just for testing until a long term fix is available.
Check to see if the magnet is energising and the plate is free and not sticking too

The machine is designed to use 25mm tokens. By putting the tape on the coin mechanism it will take smaller tokens/coins.

So if someone where to put smaller coins in the machine they would go into the hopper,(which is designed for 25mm tokens), and the hopper could jam due to wrong size coins.

I'am suggesting you use the tape to see if the coin mechanism will accept tokens. If it does then something is out of adjustment. If it doesn't and is stopping at the magnet/metal plate then the problem is the magnet or the metal plate.

From the look of you pictures everything appears to be clean. I did have a machine that had just a little bit of dirt build up on the track and it caused the tokens to not stay on track.

    Alright, quick update.

I taped across the hole in the coin mechanism with scotch tape and the game plays fine now (blue painters tape was too thick). The coins are registered and fall into the hopper.

I'm just afraid the tape will fall off if/when I sell the unit.

While waiting for a replacement part for my coin mech, I used a piece of plastic that I cut to fit and a rubber-band to keep my tokens on track. It worked really well.

If it's working with the tape then the token is riding to low.

I marked in your picture what part of the coin mechanism you need to look at.
From looking at your pictures it looks as if it could come up. You may have to remove it and bend it slightly.

I believe in the photo, that machine is off and thus not being pulled to the magnet and against the rail.

Another modification you could do, if you are not sure about the tape, is to glue a small zip-tie on the bottom track that the token rides on.

This will raise the token slightly so the top part of the token will ride against the metal part, above the long hole cutout.
