Smile My Wii U review so far :>)

well I've had my wii u over a week now and I'm really enjoying it

I paid retail price for the 32gb model and returned the 2 games I bought with it to Walmart for credit of 59.99 each.

it comes with nintendoland game which is pretty good, lots of mini games in it.

I bought super mario bros U for 47.00 shipped new in wrapper on ebay

then bought the wii U skylanders giants starter kit for 59.99 on sale at amazon with game and tree rex giant, cynder and jet-vac figures.

I have amazon prime so shipping was free and no sales tax

I wasn't sure if i would, but, i really like the skylanders gameplay, its a fun rpg game, each figure saves the coins, treasures and level it is on, and you can swap them out on the

portal during game play, the figure appears onscreen when its on the portal, you can't fall off the floating islands and its pretty impossible to die during gameplay.

the only thing i don't like is you have to play thru a whole chapter to save you spot in the game, i stopped in the middle of chapter 2 yesterday and today had to start from

    the beginning of chapter 2.

    Skylanders isn't just for kids

I can turn on my wii U and watch netflix on the gamepad in my screen room.

you can also brouse the web with it too

as I've said before, the 32gb with free game and charger stand is well worth the extra 50 bucks!!!

    Skylanders is great!!

I bought my children the original Skylanders - Spyros Adenture for Xmas last year and it is the most played game ever in our home on the Wii

they also take their figures over to grandma & grandads house and play there (they bought the game for all the grandchildren to play when they visited)

I really like that the figures can be levelled up and it stores the data within the character so that you can play at friends homes, and on different platforms of the game with your own figures.

I have bought the new Skylanders - Giants and lots of new figures for them for Xmas this year, will have to wait for Xmas day before I get to play, errrrr I mean test them out

like LD says, it's not just for kids!!

We play Skylanders too, PC version for me, and Wii/3DS for the Mrs. It's a fun game. I liked it enough to play it to the end.

Haven't started Giants yet since I'm currently hooked on Plants vs. Zombies. I need to get started since I've bought all these figures!

One thing about the figures storing the level and skill data is that they can become corrupt. Fortunately, though, the 3DS version will allow you to reformat them, but then you're re-starting them from level 1.
Not a biggie since re-leveling is a snap if you know where to go! In rare cases where they can't be fixed, Activision is tops for replacing them! They've done 2 for me.

It's good to hear you are enjoying your Wii U, Paul. Getting kind of anxious for Christmas to get here so we can start using ours!

Toys R Us released wave 3 Skylanders this morning.

Locally, they had the lightcore variant of Shroomboom, and Series 2 Stealth Elf, Prism Break, and Lightning Rod.

Still considering picking up this game. Just seems to me that it could get very expensive quickly.

you can play thru the game with just the figures from starter set,

but, if you want to unlock some parts you need a total of 8 different element skylanders.

then there are the regular skylander adventure packs, which add new adventures to the game.
