    Default Pachinko Shipping and You!

Have you ever wondered why shipping charges are so high? I have. I mean Pachinkos aren't 90lbs Pachislos after all. So as enquiring minds go, so did mine, searching for the truth of shipping Pachinkos.

Here's the lowdown. Or the breakdown, or the info on the down low if you prefer.

Shipping & $300 worth of Insurance by UPS or Fedex for Pachinkos in a box 16 x 22 x 34 is between $23.67 to $32.79 for the lower 48 states. That from Cal. or Texas or New York. The box and packing are in lots of 25 about $4.50 each.

Now with this statement, we know what the true charges are from the different coasts to anywhere in the country.

    So...

    Seller: texasauction

Shipping will be $50.00 via FedEx with Tracking provided. Add $10.00 to cover the FedEx Surcharge and Insurance.

Total of $60.00 (Surcharge and Insurance on $300 is about $2.79)
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Seller: slotusa

Shipping & handling is $59.00. (Insurance is included at no extra cost. Our insured shipping service is charged at cost. We do not make a profit on shipping.)

Total of $59.00 (their shipping profit is about $25.00)

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Seller: bradfishesice

    Shipping & Handling is $49.28

    Insurance included

Total of $49.28 (pads his handling)

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Seller: rockmemick

    Shipping is $50.00

    Shipping insurance Not offered

Total of $50.00 (without Insurance in the $20 range to ship)

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Seller: brian_brumfield

    Shipping is $50.00

    Shipping insurance Not offered

Total of $50.00 (without Insurance in the $20 range to ship)

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Seller: pachinkopros

    Shipping is $94.99

Shipping insurance Included in shipping and handling cost

Total of $94.99 (Just a plain ripoff)

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Seller: raylearned

    Shipping & Handling is $24.08

    Insurance included

Total of $24.08 (only one being honest & might loose on shipping &

    box/packing)

Arby and I were discussing this very thing the other night. I haven't shipped a machine out at this point (yeah, all I do is buy...) and I found that shipping on a Pachinko is much less than the appx. $50 I had expected it to be.

    Excellent information!

I don't mind too much if a vendor pads the S&H a little because they do spend time packaging. When I send tokens out it usually takes about 15 minutes and a very little cost of supplies. If it costs them $25 or less to ship it's rediculous that they charge $50 and up for the S&H...That's flat out dishonest IMO.

It's one thing to make a couple bucks off the Shipping, but to double or triple it is way wrong!!!

One dealer listed there... bradfishesice... figures shipping based upon location.

I know each time I look at the shipping calculator for out this way (Northeast), we've been looking at around 65 to 70+ dollars for shipping.

Now I know buying boxes and packing in bulk saves some dough... but try to find the right size box, and the right packing to ship a pachi if you're a small timer. Unless you've saved the original (and you're lucky enough that it wasn't beat to heck getting to you in the first place), it's tough to find the right sized double-wall box that will "lock" during shipment. Good foam doesn't come cheap to the little guy, either.
And remember, if it's not packed "just right"... any insurance claim will be futile.

For survival to the Northeast, I've had good luck with packing from TA and Stealth.... knock on wood.
I hope I can say the same about a cross-country trip my new LOTR is about to make from SlotUSA.

I figure it this way....Never do I know if the buyer is going to be from the next state over or California. Shipping runs me anywhere from 30-40 for jsut shipping. Then I always add insurance which adds about $3 on top of it. I pay $11 bucks for each box if I buy in bulk of 5, if not I pay $15 for each single. Add in foam, tokens and packing time and $65-$75 isnt all that much extra.

You're shipping pachislos. This post was in reference to pachinkos. Big difference in weight.

Davis, this is about Pachinkos not Pachislo (should be moved).
There the machine with balls comes in under 50 pounds.

I think most of us are ok spending $60-$70 for a Pachislo. It's the clowns that charge $89 or so. But on Pachinko's, which weigh much less, some are charging more than the Pachislo's? Example: Pachinkopros for $95, that's sick.

I didn't think the machines would very that much in weight. I will weigh a few of mine to see what I got.
