Newb with Pachislo slot machine that will not reset

HELP! I recently purchased a used Pachislo slot machine (TAKASAGO A-4-61 003065) which worked fine until i turned it off using the power switch. When I turned it back on, the machine would not work and there is no error code. I found some instructions on line and went through the reset process step by step. When I press the reset button it will change the odds from 1-6 but when I press down on the spin reel lever to set the odds...nothing happens. I've cleaned the spin reel lever's photo eye with air but that hasn't helped. My only other idea is to replace the spin reel lever photo eye but I can't locate a source for the part. Any suggestions of what to do next or where I can locate a photo eye to rule out the possiblity of the spin reel lever not working correctly? Thank you...Neil

Have you double checked all the connections in the machine?

Yes. I've gone over it very closely to ensure that there are no loose connections.

I've heard of cleaning the eye with Windex, and a Q-tip. I've never had to clean one...yet. There is a way to check it with a multimeter...I just don't know how.

You say it doesn't work after turning it off then back on, from the power supply, and the machine won't work.

The machine should be shut off from the power source. In other words unplugged from the wall. Turning it off at the power supply will turn the machine off but power is still going to the transformer. If the transformer gets to hot and you turn your machine on, from the power supply, sometimes the machine doesn't start up correctly. So if your machine is plugged into the wall, go unplug it. I would assume that your power transformer is pretty hot. Let it cool down.

Most likely the machine will need reset, after the transformer cools down.

Here are the proper reset sets.(Must be done exactly or the machine will not reset).

1) With the machine OFF, turn the reset key to the right.

2) Turn the machine ON. (DO NOT TURN THE MACHINE OFF FROM THIS POINT).

3) Set your odds. 1-6 [1=less payout],(I don't know which Takasago machine you have, so the odds button is either on the door or on the power supply).

4) Hold down on the spin lever. (approx. 5 seconds).

5) Turn the reset key to the left. (You should hear a "click sound" from your coin mechanism when turning the reset key. If not, your machine did not reset. Make sure you did each step exactly).

A good way to power your machine is to use a power strip with a on/off switch. Plug your machine into the power strip and turning it on and off from the power strip. The switch turns everything off and there is no chance of anything overheating and possibility catching fire.

I've followed these steps including disconnecting the power supply. When it comes on, the odds number is displayed but can not be "set" with the spin lever. This is why I suspect that the photo eye is bad. Is there a supplier in the US for parts like this?
