    Default Street Fighter 2 Questions

Hi, I'm new here =) I have recently purchased a Street Fighter 2 that had a "Welcome to Las Vegas" sticker covering the cool original top art that I was able to peel off without much trouble. The belly also has a Las Vegas insert, insert, but there isn't anything underneath. Does anyone know where I might be able to find the original, or even a reproduction? I am really having fun with my first Pachislo and I would like to make it look like it should.

Also, the top fluorescent light was missing. There were two behind the belly, so I swiped one of those for the top. Can I get those from anywhere?

One more question... Is there any way to reduce the bonus payouts? They go on and on, usually making me stop and refill the hopper. I have around 300 medals and have ordered more, but it just seems kind of extreme.

    Thanks!

Not sure about the rest, I'm more of a ball Guy than slots. But there is a belly glass on YJA. You would need to use a deputy bidding service to get it.
Or hope someone has a scrap machine in the US. Others would be able to advise more than me

    Welcome to Pachitalk!

You can change the odds on the machine which can make it less frequent to hit a bonus round.

The instructions for setting the odds are:

    1) With the power to the machine off, turn the reset key to the right.
    2) Turn the machine on. ( From this point on, the machine doesn't get turned off.)
    3) Set your odds (1-6), 1= less payout,
    4) Hold down on the spin lever, (approx. 5 seconds)
    5) Turn the reset key to the left. (Once you turn the reset key to the left you should hear the coin mechanism make a "click" sound. If you don't hear it "click" the machine did not reset.)

(copied that from a post by Wayne-Ooo)

I usually set my odds around 3 or 4 (seems to keep the machine more exciting.

    Congratulations on the machine!!!

Thanks Drunkenclam, do you know what service is best to use for bidding? I have never attempted anything like that.
Thank you Card Shark, I have done that. I currently have it set to 3. I guess I just need more medals. I just read a thread here that says this takes 25mm tokens. I think I ordered 24mm. Will they not work?

Clam is the expert on ordering through YJA. He suggested I use Juno for my bid service and he has been excellent.

As far as tokens go, I prefer these:

600 used 25mm pachislo tokens from Japan | eBay

I run somewhere between 1000 and 1500 tokens in each of my machines.

I think your better getting the correct Japanese tokens for your machine. I would hate for you to but something and it not work so wasting your money. I know some people have had problems with bi-metal tokens getting attracted to the electro-magnet in the coin acceptor

You can contact Juno <juno@bidservice.jp>, or any of the other deputy bidding services. But a quick warning, The most expensive part about buying from Japan is the international shipping.
Drop him a message, Saying what you want to buy, Send him the URL web address, He will ask for a deposit via paypal. Then wait. If you win. He will then tell you the final price with choice of shipping options. After finally payment, He will ship the item to you.

I can't remember how mcuh cardshark paid for a promotional booklet to get shipped. But it was certainly more than the cost of the original item.

I would imagine the shipping would be about the same for your belly glass and the booklet I purchased. I believe my total cost with fees and shipping ended up being around $58. I think though the auction price I won with was only a couple of dollars, so mostly what I paid for was fees and shipping. I strongly recommend Juno. He is quick to respond and very professional.

Here is a link to the booklet I bought:

Back to the tokens. I would stick with the 25mm ones. I have never had a problem with the bi-metal tokens. However, to play it safe you can find plenty of other ones on eBay. If you like I could mail you a few of my bi-metal for you to try in the coin mechanism. Just PM me your mailing address and I will send you out a few.

I appreciate the info & offer. The tokens will be here tomorrow and I can send them back. I think I will go for the tokens you linked to be safe.

I bought this for my wife, but after I found out what the true theme is & the fact that she prefers a Vegas type slot that she can put real money in, it has become mine! It now sits proudly next to my 1965 Williams Moulin Rouge pinball machine =)

Okay, I sent Juno an email with the auction link... but if I will have to pay $50+ to get the art, that would double what I have spent on the machine

Depending on your budget, I would go for it. I would want the machine back to the original Street Fighter theme if it was me. It sounds like you got a great deal on your machine by the way.

Would add to any resale value in the future. if it's complete. People will find any excuse to knock $$$$ off the price. You might find one next month in the states or you could wait years and never find one there.

Another option would be to look into having one made. I have no clue what the cost would be, however Wayne-Ooo might be able to help.

I had been thinking the same. I have been looking for a high quality SF2 image, but if someone here who has this machine could make a hi-res scan of the graphic, I would be extremely grateful!

A couple of updates... I have sent Juno a $32 deposit for the belly art, and I tested the tokens extensively last night and they work perfectly, so I guess I will keep them. Also, I think I am going to do a mod I found here that adds a switch to allow for dispensing tokens from the hopper without opening the door.

    Before...

After... the top art was underneath (thank goodness). Here is my makeshift belly art... until I win that auction
