My last and final attempt is to bypass the power supply and hook the 4 lcd backlights up to this. Hopefully this will work.

I am on a mission from Godzilla to get this LCD screen up and running .

This looks like it's going to work, I hooked up one light as a test to the output and it looks like it's compatable. I need to buy some molex connectors tomorrow and I predict Gamera will rise again !

Well unfortunately it's not bright enough , about half to a third as bright as it should be. I'll look around , at least I have it back together and the bulbs are wired externally now for any test if I run across another with more wattage.

I already tried that and let the smoke out of it I am thinking an older pc lcd monitor from a resale shop will have what I need

Ok so I got my new Chinese invertor in today, hooked it up and it works really nicely for 15 seconds . However, now I've learned that these inverters shut down when they sense uneven output. It may not be the inverter afterall. I am hoping the current problem is drain on all this extra temporary wire I have strung all over the place as I am smelling ozone. I have tried one light at a time and they all work so i am hopeful that shortening the leads and installing this in the old pocket might still work... test gamera - YouTube
