Picked up 6 tonight: Two Popeye 2's, Charlie Chaplin, Bungee Jump, Batman Begins (I think), Thunderbirds (40th I think). And two cabinets/cases. Lotsa balls, a tray for each machine, a pair of ball carry trays, and some keys. My little wagon was full!

Although one of the Popeye 2 (Love Love Olive) is for sure going to be a present, some of the others will likely stay. In addition I already have a Nishijin-A (I think), a Milky Bar, an Avant Guard Love Love, and an Indiana Jones.

Is there a way or us to have more of a database set up on our collections? It would be great for additions and for being able to search owners of machines if we need help or have questions.

Yup. Worked out great. After seeing the boxes I guess that's also where I got my Indiana Jones in a cabinet. (or at least the cabinet)

I have moved these posts over from the 'Database Thread' so that we don't lose them and it also gives you a place where you can converse about them

The Database Thread is kept in a specific format to aid members, all as per Compirates first post / information post Pachinko Owners Database thread

But do please continue to post your updates in the database thread, if you have any to add or remove or perhaps you haven't added your machines there yet?

Don't worry if you don't know the specific name of your machine or year or Japanese name, just give whatever info you can and I'm sure other members will help fill in the blanks

I though about doing an excel file about machines, owners and location. But unsure how people would feel about it. Also members come and go, machines get sold on and without mention here. I fear that within 2-3 months it would be out of date and inaccurate. A proper database would require proper inputting and updating. Fields could include Owner, location, previous owner or where purchased from (ie non member on eBay/Craigslist/Custom Pachinko) Machine name and spec level if known, serial number if known. Any other thoughts, let me know.

I think a database like that would be a great tool. If it were accessible through this site. Members who do not want their machines listed or any specific details just need to not add the machines. I also think it would be great if you could include pictures of the machine.

I don't think this is important. What matters is getting a start. Then you drop responsibility for it.

Make it password protected and centralled located (DropBox). Then give the password out on demand to those participating. The password can be shared amongst those who are interested.

It will find it's own way...

I can start to do a template if people want to tell me the categories/fields they want. If think location should be either US state or other country. 4 fields for machine. Make, model, spec level, year.
Then any other thoughts people. Help me out here

I would add a field for serial number (would be nice for machines like Spin Luck) assuming this will be a database for Pachinkos and Pachislos. I think it would also be nice to have a field for type of machine (Hanemono, Arrangeball etc.) and separate fields for English and Japanese names.

Looking forward to seeing this up and running.

Having a database with pictures of each machine would be great along with the translation of each machine seen during play. I think that would help out a lot of people, including myself
A good many of the machines say the same thing but it would help everyone out a lot if you knew what exactly was being said or shown on the screen in Japanese.

Well I don't know a thing about web hosting and pics, I have a general knowledge of excel. Plus I don't want to get into copyright issues of finding pics of each machine plus it would make the file 100 times larger I don't get thaty mich spare time anyway. Lets start basic at first then see about expanding
