Default Why would anyone spray WD40 into a Pachinko machine

I saw a Pachinko machine on craigslist and bought it sight unseen and had my daughter pick it up. It looked in good shape from the photos and wasn't missing anything essential that I could see. When I got it, it was clear that it had been "lubed" generously. What a mess. The problem is that they oil was everywhere and where ever dirt could settle, it was a sticky mess (the balls didn't want to roll on it). I ended up stripping the entire machine apart and cleaning every part and reassembling. I felt greasy every time I worked on it...

But its back together and working really well now so at least it wasn't physically damaged. I picked it up to sell and it met that goal, and the good thing was that it was just time, no parts to find... Back out on craigslist and instead of a project, it's ready to play...

I know how we like pictures, so here are some before and after pictures..

Really cool machine, I like the center attraction. Good thing it just needed to be cleaned, but who knows why some people do what they do, WD isn't fit for every job.

Here is a link to the Craigslist ad in case any members are interested in the machine.

There is a fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."
