The Columbus looks a little intriguing. I will have to look into it. Anyone have any insights on this one?

That explains it. I've been using the top one forever.

What is a good machine to make a custom out of? (One without specific video related to that machine. Etc..)

Also, one that is cheap and simple. I am not looking to turn a $300.00 machine into $30.00 custom job... (I am not that optomistic about my custom machine attempt!)

I have been looking at pink-bell also. Just lost a bid for it on ebay... It went for $180.00+ dollars there.

The one that seems to be used most often is the Oh Hanabi because it's: 1) Cheap, very cheap, yet reasonably well made. 2) Has a 4th reel on top so it looks like it is a step above a basic machine.

Whenever Syscom has these available in large quanties they run a special on them - 6 for $49.95 each. They are running that special right now. And you can mix machines. So if you wanted 3 of these to experiment with, and they had 3 other machines you wanted for your collection, you could get those at 35% off Syscoms's retail prices.

    Thinks to keep in mind:

The machines you buy at 35% off don't come with tokens - they're extra.
The Oh Hanabi special does come with 250 tokens - but you'll still want to buy more.
The packing is single box (which works fine on a pallet). But if you are going to ship your finished custom, you'll want to ask Syscom to ship in their retail packing - which will cost you more.
None of their wholesale price includes warranty. So it will be your responsibility to keep your customer's machines working. You might want to have a couple of extra Oh Hanabis around just for this purpose. It's cheaper to buy them than to stock up with parts.

Trust me, I have enough tokens... I wish all places offered machines without tokens.

What is the link to that site?

I can't find "Oh Hanabi" or even "Hanabi" on ebay...

I found other stuff with "Hanabi" in it, but no machines...

Duh! I should have known that... I've only been there a billion times... I just never went below the "Premium" button on the menu...

How are thier gold plated coins? Are they gold plated brass, or gold plated - chrome plated brass?

I wonder if they sell nickle plated tokens?

Thanks for the link, but you need to install shockwave to see it. I am hesitant to do so as programs like that usually have an S-Load of spyware and adware and all kinds of up to no good "goodies" bundled with them.

    Thanks anyway though!

Shockwave, if installed directly from Macromedia, has no spyware or "bundles" with it.
