Default Help with my Sanyko Pachinko Machine

I recently bought a 1970's-1980's Vintage Pachinko Machine. I have restored it and cleaned it up, and it works. I went and found a company in TX who sells Pachinko Parts, and I bought a light kits, so I could finish restoring my machine. Well, AFTER 2 days, it quit working. I took the kit to a neighbor who knows about wires and soldering. And even he could not figure it out. I was told by the company in TX that I had to look elsewhere for help. They will not help me at all anymore. Does anyone here on this site know where I can buy Pachinko parts for my machine? The company also in TX told me that they did not have the parts I was looking for, then 4 days later, they said " Oh we have the parts" They would cost you $70.00 for BOTH parts total. What a JOKE.

    First off to Pachitalk.

Second, Can you do us a favor and post a few pictures. If you need some help doing that you can review this thread. http://www.pachitalk.com/forums/gene...tml#post461708

Wiring should be pretty basic on a vintage. But by what your saying it sounds like you have an early modern. If it has a flipper it is a vintage if it has a shooter knob it is a modern.

If you have any questions feel free to ask. And once again welcome to PT.

If files are too big try setting the quality of your camera setting to a lower setting. That is what I had to do. And to Pachitalk!

    Hi There

    Welcome to PachiTalk James

Pics are easy to upload here, but you may need to re-size them using whatever software your computer uses for photos, like picture manager or similar, pretty sure something comes as standard with most computers

But not to worry, I have grabbed some pics from your facebook link for those Members unable to see the link or those who don't have facebook

Thanks for that, hanabi. I am new here to this forum. If you look at the pics, you see the switch at the top of the machine, that's for the ball bucket light "out" where the black switch is. Where the jackpot is in the 7th and 8th picture is where a light goes. That's for the jackpot. If you look at the 6th picture, where the white switch is, that's supposed to be a switch for the jackpot light. The light goes off when you get a jackpot. Any Ideas where I can get these 7.5 volt mini light bulbs, and the switch for the jackpot. I already replaced the switch for the ball bucket light out. Thanks for the help so far.

The bulbs are available at Radio Shack...
    Radio Shack Part Numbers:
    # 272-360
7.5V bulb - fits most pachinko machine bulb bases - works ok on 9V battery

    # 270-324
    Heavy Duty 9V Battery Clip

    # 270-326
    9V Battery Holder

    # 272-360
    Bulb Holder (Base)

If the lights worked once and now do not, my best guess is the fuse holder. It is commonly a problem on that machine. Unless you are using a transformer, you can bypass the fuse.

The leaf switch for the jackpot is not so easy to find, it is easy to test and fix though and is usually relaible. Do you have a multi meter? Just test each switch, it should read open or closed, Ohms equal infinity or zero.

the light kit I bought was a 9 volt wall adapter like a cordless home phone wall charger. a20791b12f428db1492f93_m.jpg that's what they sent me. There is no fuse. You simply cut off the charger part ( not the wall plug part ) and you have to figure out what wires go to what light socket.

Was there any of the original wiring left on the machine? There are usually three wires, you would want to hook up the transformer to the red and white wires at the top, if they are there... the black wire is usually the parlour attendant light and the black wire is usually not used for what you are trying to do.

Carl, the wires on the machine were SO old, they were not worth trying to use again. and there was NO plug on the other end of the wires, when I bought the machine from a lady down the street, she knew nothing about it. If you look on the 1 picture above, at the black switch, that's what was left, when I cut the old wires. The old wires had a fuse in it. I had NO clue what went where, I just got all new wires. What I have now, what came with the 9 volt light kit I bought.

Am I correct, that you don't have the leaf switch in Vintage Rear 2 picture above?

If you can re-use that leaf switch, it will work reliably. Lightly sand the contacts and straighten the leafs with some pliers.
Make sure the leafs are spaced about like in the picture above. (normally not touching)

You have everything you need in that kit to set up lights. I have used them myself. The only difference I prefer to use a battery simply so I can put the machine anywhere. Machines usually come with a fuse but if yours is gone just plug it in to a power strip and turn it off when you are done or buy a cheap fuse fit. Your micro switch looks fine, I would just remove the old wires and solder new ones. Your leaf switch should be fine as long as you left yourself enough wire to attach too. If not your kit comes with a micro switch and you can use that to replace the leaf switch (those old leaf switches work well) . CarlW diagram shows exactly how to wire it. If you decide to use the mirco switch, you will wire it a little different than the one for the low ball light. That one activates when the switch is released and the jackpot is the other way around. One wire goes to COM and the other to NO. Here is a photo with the fuse, but you do not need it.
