Default Bought another machine, Nishijin Model B

Hey all, Found another machine at a garage sale, got it for 20$, I think it was a good deal, and want to know what Nishijin machine I bought. All I can figure out is that it is a Model B

Its very dirty on the inside and I managed to get the ball jam out and free. My plan is to give it a good cleaning first of all, and then I'm not sure of what to do, restore it to original or go crazy with it and mod it wild? Custom background, LED lights, etc.
The background has water damage on it and would need replacing, so I might do an original design or something custom. Anyone have links to images or scans of backgrounds?
The metal is also pretty bad, will need a really good polishing.

Extremely close to the 1973 model B I bought last month... All the way down to the "Pachinko Palace" sticker.

Yours is much much cleaner. (The machine, not the sticker... oh wait... the sticker is cleaner too... I removed mine)

One thing I don't get about these is the lights on right side light bar and the light that illumnates the center during jackpots.

Does someone here know the proper way these should work? Mine basically goes center and then right side for any jackpot. Is this right? No other logic to it?
    Woof!

    Nice looking 73 Model B 5 Tunnel.

I have a few of the same model myself.

Looks like you are missing the window out of the front tray though.

I do have the little window! I opened it up to evict the spiders nest out of there.

I called that design 5 lanes. Going from memory, different tulips open depending upon which lane you go down...

Chumsize, I think your lights are working properly.

No I did not, it was nasty and I had to vacum it up ASAP!

Now my question to everyone is about the cell, my cell has a good amount of water damage and I am thinking about replacing it.
If I were to replace it, would it be better to keep it the original design or to go custom on it? I do like things to be original, but this machine is a bit far gone to keep it original. Should I make it into a wild custom machine?

Like your idea to make a wild custom machine! No point in trying to match original unless there is some sentimental value for you. Members Rival and Cardwii sell replacement vinyl backgrounds. It does look like a lot of work to me to replace the background on any machine...

Some other members have replaced backgrounds too!

Since you're in my twin city, can you make a background with Chicago Bears, Blackhawks, Bulls and of course Cubs theme?

The first three are fine... but if he puts a Cubs logo anywhere on that thing it will NEVER EVER pay out.

No sentimental attachment to this machine, it is just a garage sale find. The guy I bought it from might think otherwise, but he's the one who sold it.
I was thinking about doing a cherry blossom themed machine.

I say go for it if you want a custom background. I printed off a few of my own and have replaced backgrounds on many machines. (about 7 or 8 now.) People don't seem to care for the original just make something that looks good and that you think you could resell easily.

That cherry blossom one might be a little busy though. That is one thing I have learned. If you do a custom background you don't want it to be busy or it will detract from the machine plus all the pockets and things will cover up part of your image. I see a common acronym coming on. Keep It Simple.

    Any questions just ask.

Sad commentary that even with no payout, millions still pay to watch the carnage...

I've only been to 2 baseball matches, both at Wrigley Field and both times Cubs won. Was 12 years ago though Maybe they can employ me as a lucky mascot. It's only 8 hrs flight each way from London.
