Default James Bond 007 - Newbie needs help

    Hi all,

I have a Takasago James Bond 007 machine that stopped working. It used to work just fine but has been sitting in the basement unused for the past 7 years or so. I cleaned it up and turned it on but now it just lights up and keeps playing the same annoying two toned sound. It won't accept any tokens (they just come right back out again). From what I can tell, the reset is done by turning the key to the left (turning to right opens it). That hasn't done anything.

Again - absolute newbie with this type of stuff. Any guidance would be very appreciated. Can send pix or whatever might help folks identify the issue.

Sounds like your machine needs a full reset.

    Here's the steps.

    1) With the power to the machine off, turn the reset key to the right.
    2) Turn the machine on. ( From this point on, the machine doesn't get turned off.)
    3) Set your odds (1-6), 1= less payout,
    4) Hold down on the spin lever, (approx. 5 seconds)
    5) Turn the reset key to the left. (Once you turn the reset key to the left you should hear the coin mechanism make a "click" sound. If you don't hear it "click" the machine did not reset.)

It is important you do each step, in order, or the machine doesn't reset.

Not sure how to set odds. (Your step 3.) Instructions that came with my machine say to set odds I need to "locate internal key switch" to access programmoing mode ... But I don't see anything that might be an internal key switch ... Where would that be?

    Ok,

On the power supply unit, most likely next to the hopper. Your machine may have a toggle switch rather than a key. They both serve the same purpose.

So in step one, flip the switch and in step five, flip it back.

When you flip the switch, (step 1), then turn the machine on,(step 2), a number, (1-6), should display in one of the windows on the front of the machine. Or it could be displayed on the inside of the door, on a led display. To change the odds, there is normally a button on the inside of the door. Or on some machines there is a button on the power supply. Just keep pushing the button till you get the odds you want. (1= less payout,2,3,4,5, 6= more payout)

Pictures of the inside of the door, power supply, front of the machine always help.

Thank you! We are making progress. You are right, it's a toggle switch for changing the odds. We are successfully able to change the odds now. But when we do the last step (inserting key in door and turning left), there is no "click" and it doesn't seem to do anything. We see how turning the key to the left slides a metal bar on the inside up, moving it from between two little black things -- must be allowing a circuit through -- but it doesn't seem to have any effect. Coins still just fall through. Tried the steps a few times. We could take a video of going through the steps ... Maybe we're missing something?

The door key is not used in any of the steps of a full reset procedure.

Your last step is: Flip the toggle switch back. ( the same one that you flipped in Step 1.)

We went through all of the steps with still no luck. We created a video showing what we did. Please have a look and let me know what we're still doing wrong - thanks.

Really sorry but it looks like this member hasn't been back here since October 2012..

He may have set the thread up for email notifications though, so perhaps he'll see your reply, or you could try a comment on his youtube video??

    Hi PDM53,

Not great news for me. I tried all of the various steps other members had suggested but none worked so I took it to an arcade repair shop. After $99 in tests they said it needed a new part that had to be ordered from Japan for $80. It just wasn't worth that money for me so I let them keep the machine. I certainly hope you have better luck than I did.

    Wbryce,
Thanks so much for getting back to me. Bummer. I have also tried all the resets with no luck. Unfortunately I cant find anyone in Southern California to work on it. If anyone knows of any repair places even remotely close to Anaheim Calif in Orange County Please let me know. Many thanks

    Hi There,

Not sure if you are still having the issue with your machine, but it is very similar to the issue I just resolved with a Cr code and alarm. Try removing the Token Accepter and clean out any fluff and clean the sensor this worked for me.

    Cheers
