More work overnight and some more discoveries.

First, maybe it wasn't such a great idea to wholesale tear into the wiring looms and remove the plugs and so forth!
On the machines that I have left almost everything connected up, they seem to work perfectly!

    Of the machines:

    * KODA KUMI「FEVER LIVE IN HALL」MF-T - power up perfectly and plays fine, no extra work needed and still has computer pachi cords all attached!

    * Hissatsu Shigotonin III - powers up fine but won't game start ie. shooter won't shoot. Have removed all components.

    * Misoru Hibari - what a beautiful cell this is - I assumed because the theme was about a little known (in the West) enka singer, that it would be a snore-fest, but it's anything but. The gameplay actually revolves around a game of on-screen hanafuda (Hanafuda - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia), so is really quite engaging. The board has subtle through-the-veneer lighting (effective and surprising), the videdo screen is a very honest and traditional Japanese theme full of gorgeous colors and animations, the sound and music restrained and entirely appropriate for extended sessions sat in front of it. This would be absolutely perfect in anyone's gamesroom looking for authentic Japanese flavor (as opposed to the more modern idea of Japanese -> doe eyed anime creations bouncing around). I have this frame to replace with a Tanuki-kun III cell, but I'm now considering keeping this cell too rather than selling - it is quite something and will attract people I'm sure. AND - it is fully working, with ALL computer pachi components removed (!!!)

    * CR Project Aquarion SF-TV - another bright and really colorful cell. Powers up find and plays fine too. Nothing removed from the back.

    * CR EVANGELION SFW - powers up fine, but won't shoot any balls.

    * CR DEAD AGGRESSOR Fz - Gets a loud siren at startup and won't shut-up. Also won't shoot any balls.

Hmmm... so, 3 out of 6 ready to go without more work done on the computer pachi cords at back. Not a bad start.
And 1 of at least each maker (Sankyo, Kyoraku) working already, so perhaps I can match to the others for remediation.

So it would appear these might *all* have worked straight out of the cabinets, had I not removed any wiring at all?

I have a feeling Shigotonin III and Evangelion might only need their CR adaptors replaced...
or whatever cord that controls the shooter mechs, re-attached.

    More investigation this weekend.

Need to make some feet/base this weekend.

What does everyone use for wood? I was thinking treated pine perhaps?

I've seen simple boards placed under, screwed in, and that provides enough of a base (and allows me to screw in my transformer too) to work well. But no idea how wide or thick these are from the photos.

What size would that need to be approx, in your experience?

That's for individual feet, right? I need a bit more room for these power transformers to sit on - and want something wider.
The trannies are almost twice the size of the ones you commonly find in USA pachis, as these are encapsulated (see above photos)

How about one solid flat board, screwed in underneath... what size would you have that?

    I'm guessing say 200mm (7 3/4 inches) x 600mm (23 inches) x 25mm (1 inch) ?

you could add the 2 feet and them run a wider board across the back of them for the transformer

Would that be a dongle? Or something more complex? I have been following, and although In am a "vintage" collector...it has been fascinating, although confusing at times. Have you considered keeping just one as "arcade",just because it would be different, or does it take up too much space? Maybe they lose their "charm" when modified so.

I'd start with the cr adaptor (dongle) too.

Could the dead aggressor be something like a door open switch either faulty/damaged or unplugged.

You say the wiring is intact and working, Did you disconnect the additional boards though. If I was a buyer, those unused boards might put me off.

    Keep up the good work

Before I sell any of these, I'll be doing some short videos to get you across gameplay and features of each.

They'll be on YouTube for reference - and I'll ref all the links here.

Added in new feet (boards) today ( ended up using new pine wood at 600mm/23.5 inch widest, 290mm/11.5 inches deep, and about 20mm/almost 1 inch high)
    and secured the trannies.

Project Aquarion looks like this from top:

    and bottom:

I have spare green Ground wires from the 24V above, hanging about (see last pic) - where do I secure these to make use of their earthing? I have a mix of wooden and alloy (Kyoraku) frames, but can secure a screw in it if needed? Or do they go to the encapsulated transformer, somehow?

You don't need to attach the green wire to anything. It usually runs to the ball hopper at the back and 'earths' it to remove any static build up on the balls that they get when they travel through the ball handling equipment in the pachinko parlours.

If you had an earth connection available on the transformer, you'd usually connect it there. But seeing as your transformers are encapsulated and the connections to the power cords are not user accessible, then I'd just leave it hanging.

Question Re: Extracting a Modern pachinko from a computer-controlled cabinet (Computer Pa

This is the current problem I'm facing with the SANKYO machine, Dead Aggressor (a modern deji-hane).

First, it boots up to the female voice noting I should push the reset button. After doing that, as shown in the video, I get an alarm and error screen.

Trying different combos of button pushes before and after boot-up always results in an eventual screen error and alarm.

Lucky it has volume controls fitted!

    Any thoughts?
