Default New and in need of help and advice

    Greetings all.
I came across this site while trying to track down information on an old pachinko machine not realizing how much fluff there is out there on the matter.
I recently rescued an old kyoraku auto launching pachinko cabinet from my parents' basement. My father picked it up in Japan when he was stationed there in the mid eighties though we suspe t it to be a late seventies machine. My father was in a "I can fix anything" phase of his life, and admittablily he was good at it, but this machine should have been left where he found it. He was never able to repair it most likely because of a problem with the circuit board. He had managed to keep a hold of it for over thirty years and several moves. But sadly, as you see below, most of the hidden workings of the machine have long since been lost to time and moves.
I would like to be able to bring this old machine new life. I don't plan on restoring it to its original state but to an upgraded emulation. I have a fair talent with microprocessors and wiring but I have no information on the machine and how it once operated electronically. If I can get ahold of the layout of the original board or documentation I should be able to emulate the old board using an arudino or the like.
The second issue I expect will be will the chutes and bins for the balls' passage in the cabinet. These I expect to have to build from scratch or, with luck, find that they were a "one size fits all" component that are somewhat easily bought. Either case would require me to know what model machine I am dealing with and as the images show, I have little info to go on.

Any help will be greatly appriceated,
    Breyyne

Ohhh hanemono type. Alphaminor will love it Playing field looks good too.
Wow there is a lot missing on it

Ball tank, payout motor, lights, boards, But at least a decade earlier than you think probably eighties to early nineties maybe. I looked on mansai777 and pachimono and couldn't see this one.

No later than mid to late eighties because the family had moved to California before the big quake in '89.
I expect I can replace missing lights with LEDs and the boards with an arudino micro controller board. The tanks and chutes will the the real challenge.

I think the payout system would be the hardest to duplicate. Really need to find a similar age machine to go by as a template . Others wil be along to offer more advice, I'm more of a newer modern guy

Ok here is a link to the yja auction site for a slightly newer machine,

Not until I have had a chance to clean her up. It has been in a basement or storage space for the last twenty years. Dust in places dust shouldn't settle. And the glass pane is so bad I had to open the panel to get a look at the play field.

Your right Clam! That is one cool machine!, one of the earliest hanemonos Ive seen, very iconic with the airplane yaku
shame about the missing parts, and unfortunately I don't have any machines that are comparable to it,
Your in a grey area in between modern and vintage, but the people here are very helpful so hopefully you get the info you need
Keep us informed on your progress and best of luck getting it up and running! Its worth it

still not sure on the date, but all my hanemonos that have tulips on the cell are from the '80's

It's a Kyoraku brand machine, and I agree with Alpha, that the 'SuperWonder' machine is the closest smilie I have seen.

I don't envy your mission - that will be some rebuild.

Best of luck - there are plenty of people here who will throw in 2 cents worth, when asked.

Some of the later ones do have tulips
but from what I've read about these airplane type machines
makes me think its from the mid '80s if not earlier

    cool looking playfield..

    and of course

Is there a shooting handle? That is a deal breaker. If you have nothing to shoot with; then what?

Love the idea though! Have made a few fully cyclic vintages that are in the pachinko modifications forum. You just would need to separate and sense the winning balls via ramps and sensors. That big plastic cover piece, you still have intact, is perfect to cover everything up with and will guide the balls to one location at the bottom!

Although there is a new Arduino (Leonardo); you probably will need a MEGA...

I work long overnight hour shifts but I do get rather nice stretches of 3 and 4 day weekends to fill with hobbies. Sorry about the quality of the pics below but it is still early morning here and my phone's camera is not the best in the light available. My next day off, Wednesday, I plan on moving it to my work table to clean off / out and test the components that I have. As you can see have the tension knob style of launcher, though the spring in not all that springy anymore and will need replacing. The Hammer is in place and seemed good from the brief inspection I gave it at my Parents'.
I also included a picture of the top ball tray/launching loading tray with the Kyoraku logo attachment. Perhaps that is the machine's model beside it.
And yes, Alphminor, I believe the SuperWonder is the exact same except that I seemed to missed out on the sci-fi themed background art and my Orange men (Tulips?) are upside down. The last I am not sure if it is a flaw in the machine or a game feature that was just pointing downwards at the last power down.
