    Default Wiring on '77 Mizuho

I'm a first-time owner of a '77 Mizuho. Everything is working great mechanically, but the lights are not functioning.
I've added new bulbs, new fuse, new 9 volt clip & holder, and new 9 volt. I was hoping it it would be simple, but no dice...no lights.
In back, I've got red, green, blue, yellow wires.
    At one end...
Yellow & Green are soldered to the power board.
The Blue used to be soldered to the power board, but it has detached. (I can see where it used to be soldered.)
Red is connected to the 9 volt battery, along with the black ground wire, and Red is not directly connected to the power board.

    On the other end...
Blue, red & green (spliced) connect to Low Ball light.
Yellow & green (spliced) connect to the Jackpot.

    2 questions:

QUESTION #1: Will the Jackpot wiring typically work without the Low Ball (blue wire) working? (The jackpot doesn't light now, but I'm wondering if jackpot problem is tied to the low ball problem...or if it's a different problem.)

QUESTION #2: Where the blue wire broke free from the power board, I'm assuming that this needs to be re-soldered? (You guessed it; I don't have a soldering gun!)

    Help pls.
    RKG.

    Tks, guys.
    Here are the photos.
#1 back shot of total machine. (reasonably clean.)
#2 power board. (notice blue wire not connected...and tiny stub of blue wire where it used to be soldered near yellow soldering.)
#1 connection to Low Balls light. (notice green wire with multiple splice; green wiring going into mechanism; green wire coming out & dangling.)
#2 wires going into rocker switch for jackpot.
#3 rocker switch for jackpot payout.

nice close up pics.. a bit to close..

can ya back up a few more inches and take another set..

the last pic is of the leif switch that would close the circuit for the jackpot light.. im sure the contact points there could use a little cleaning..

    of course

Hmm... not having a soldering pencil makes that hard to fix the blue wire... I don't really know what you could do.

I would start off by stripping the wire. Then maybe you could try to use a crimp connector that will slide over the tab. (check to see if the connector will slide over the tab before you put it on the wire.)

I can't really think of any other way to do it without a soldering pencil.

As for that little stray green wire... can you see where it comes from or what it might have gone to? (meaning try to find other broken wires nearby) I mean based on you picture it doesn't appear to really go to anything.

by the looks of it i think i would start pulling wires and do some testing..

looks like one that should start over and re wire it.. you can probably rewire it with the wires there.. but i would start over and make my own system

A soldering iron only costs about $10 or less. It is the absolute best way to make a good electrical connection. I think I have a Mizuho, but haven't tested the lights. I can dig it out to see if the color code is the same. Meanwhile, can you take off the fuse block and post a pic of the back, so I can see where the wires go.

    Thanks, team.
I invested in the soldering pencil. I'm now in good shape.

A second unrelated question: on jackpot, balls sometimes come into the upper payout/shooter tray...sometimes the lower cash-out try...and sometime both.
Why does this happen? What's the logic?

ball should enter the top tray untill its full.. when the top tray is full then balls are diverted to the bottom.. when the bottom tray is full then the machine should shut the shooter off untill winnings are removed..

if balls are sometimes split top and bottom then there is a diverter that could be instaled incorrectly..
