LCD Screen very dark on Net Rio Super blackjack Machine.

Hello, I have recently acquired the Net Rio Super Blackjack machine and the problem is that i can just make out the pictures on the LCD Panel, I was told when i bought this machine that the back Light had failed on the LCD Panel
the picture on the LCD panel is very dark but i can see the Pictures/features faintly, So the LCD panel is working just very dark.
I would appreciate any help from any one as i would like to get this panel repaired or replaced so i can view this great machine correctly.
Everything else is O.K on the machine and it plays fine, No error codes or anything.
Hope someone can help.
Also i have the door key but no reset key, Any help with this would also be much appreciated.

Don't know about that, Can you get the screen make and model number? I've replaced a smaller 20x4 character display once, the back light was a seperate 5v feed labeled + and - It was contacts 15 and 16 on a 16 core ribbon cable. But a full video monitor would be more complex. But getting the screen make is the important thing.

As for key switch. Best thing to do, Is disconnect the power, remove the PSU, open it up and replace the key switch with either a new key switch or a rocker/toggle switch from maplins

As for screens. Well best just to search the web But screens are expensive, Its the part that the recyclers are most after when these machines are scrapped. I'll have a look around, see what i can find

Check this business... That panel shows up in their list of refurbished LCD's (salvaged from pachinko machines, no less!)

you would have to buy 200 from them

LCD Panels are shipped in multiples of 200 units and are shipped by air as well as sea.

You could try comatsu trading in Japan. They do strip machines fof parts, but they do charge business prices. But it will probably cost more than you paid for the machine. Do these use EL technology for backlighting Might be possible to replace the EL panel.

Never thought a back light problem in a screen would be so hard to repair or replace.

I see you are in the UK too, and I just noticed that a Super Black Jack pachislo is currently listed for sale on eBay UK,
Not sure if this is the same model variation as yours, as I believe the belly glass designs vary etc

That is if you are unable to get your screen sorted reasonably cheaply

If you found a screen in Japan, would probably cost you approx £100 with shipping or higher. Other option is ask a laptop repair place (not pc world) If they can replace the backlight

have you tried carefully unplugging that connector and reseating it with the power off??

I would include any plugs in that area. And between processor and screen too.

Thanks for that luckydog, I do not have the reset key but i am going to add a rocker/toggle switch when i get 1, So i will try what you suggest.
I can not get a replacement screen.
I found 2 LCD screens in the states for £30.00 each for this machine with a reset key, But they wont ship outside the U.S
Googled this LCD screen for days now and still no luck (driving me crazy) but i will keep trying all options.
I love the machine but without being able to see the features on the screen it's annoying.
