    Default Door Help

Ironic, but this is a cry for help here.

I just got my new HH today, its REAL nice. it only has ONE big problem. The door doesnt close (similar to my other Hanabi in which the door will not stay shut LOL) Anyway, im looking at the HH things and Im clueless, I realy have to pound on the front door to get it to close. I closed it once after a HJ and the screen cut out for a second, so for now the door stays cracked open whiles i will play. SOMEONE please post pictures or something on what i need to tighten loosen or what before I called BigBear and ask them for help.... Ill be calling tommorrow if no one helps here.

The hinges on most of these machines allow you to adjust the door. I'd suggest loosening the screws on the hinges, lifting the door into position so it works properly and then re-tightening the screws.

I've had several machines arrive with doors that didn't close properly and after some hinge adjustment all is fine.

    Good luck!

don't close the door the regular way.

try pressing on the top right corner of the door when you are closing it.

the door on my lcd magic monkey is tight also and i found this closes it real easy.

mine snaps shut very easy this way.

    Maury,

I have an HH. Mine works perfect. I do not see any adjustable screws like my other machines. But at the top on the door side, there is a spring loaded lever that looks like it has something to do with the door. I am not sure what it does but you may try playing with that. Please let us know what you find out.

I saw that spring thingy, and it feels kinda rough, it still moves, but when i pull it forward it feels like it locks (grinds) a bit.

i got the spring thingy to go smoothly, but nothing happens now, door still will not close easily. It feels like something is more preventing the door from closing, than the door not fitting or being warped.

I notice in your original post, you mention that when you did close it once, the screen cut out. There isn't a wire or cable getting stuck or 'pinched' at the left edge of the door is there?

OK OK, i know this will sound bad, but trust me, nothing is broken (at least nothing yet)

So i found a way to close the door, but it still made the LCD Flinch because of the large shaking. So i found a way to close it by closing the bottom first, then closing the top. Then I was playing the other night, and I heard a large *Thud* i was like ****! So i opened it up, to find nothing. Closed it and the door closed fairly easy, by closing the bottom and closing the top. (still the way I have to do it) So i hit the reels, and i heard this clattering noise. I found a piece of something in the reel, and I REALLY couldnt find what it came from. It looks like a piece of packing material, but i cannot be sure. The machine STILL works, and it still is looking nice. So far the door works good enough for me. I got 777 tonight, and this is the best machine, WAAAY better than my Hanabi

I know this post is extremely old, but I have found the problem! Basically the reel cage must have come loost some time during shipping from either japan to texas, or texas to Missouri. I took the reels out the other night to look at the LEDS on the reels, put it back in and now the door closes fine. Basically I think the white plastics where preventing the middle part of the door from shutting.

Anyway, just saying, just incase anyone ever needs to know!

Now that you drag this back to the foreground, I have seen this frequently on the Eleco machine with the big screen. The reels commonly shift during shipping, and if they are shifted very much, the door doesn't want to close right. As you've discovered, once they're centered up, the door closes much better.
