Default *Now Sold* :Nishijin Shiroi Kamome

I don't know alot about this machine, it was a family Christmas gift in the mid to late 70's. From what I have learned it is one of the mass imports. My mother told me she used to play it, I do not recall it ever working.

    It currently is NOT working.

The balls are in a box from Pachinko Palace, I do not know how many currently, when I can get a count I will post it.

The written info from the front is Nishijin Shiroi Kamome

There is also a funny looking "Sufer DX" with a birds head on the right. From what I know I am going to hazard a guess maybe that is a Super Deluxe ?

Any info is apperciated. Anyone local can come take a look.Pachi Front.jpg

Pachi Rear.jpgI am asking 50 bucks, local pickup prefered, anything else will be plus shipping.

I am located in Northern Virginia right outside Washington DC

    Thanks,

    Hank

    to pachitalk.

Can you post a close up pic of the center feature?

Background looks like it doesn't have much water staining. FYI build year on that machine should be 1976.

Yep. That is missing and is needed for play. Though you can get a replacement here. Pachinko Replacement Parts

Also looks like there is a minor ball jam in the back.

Thanks for your replies, I have hauled this upstairs for photos and to take a closer look. I think I am going to poke around in the tech section a bit.

Here is a close up of the front

    Pachi front close.jpg

The smaller circle at the top is a bit washed out due to flash it is kinda a holographic thingie of a pegesaus.

I was going to post a pic of the stray part I have but I looked at the parts link and it is a rear track cover. Now how to glue it on...Just kidding...

No water staining, part of the background is a light purple in cloud like fashion.

Sorry, but that light purple "ringing" around the playfield is water staining under the cell. Otherwise a nice looking machine.

You of course are correct, I thought it was meant to be there since it seems so uniform but there is a blotch up top I hadn't seen. What causes that ?

The good news is I seem to have the mech stuff working...now I am gonna see about getting some power to it as it looks like the jackpot needs juice to work.

Can someone tell me how the wiring goes ? Here is a pic of the terminal...

It was caused by the guys who cleaned them in the parlors.

Glad to hear you found the track cover and you got the mechanics working.

The wiring is 9v. So DON'T hook it up to house current. There really is no + or - side to the circuit so you pick a side. Power is applied to the white and orange screws. Best thing to use to power machines is either a 9v battery with a battery clip or a 9v wall-wart / transformer. Either can be found fairly cheap.

    Any issues let us know.

I would probably only do that if my mother would want to use it. I like working on it and have had fun bringing it "back to life" but I'm not much into games. You guys do have a great community here and for my money that is a must for getting into a hobby.

I have done some testing with a 9v battery, I got the "load balls" light to come on with the leads and when I clipped leads directly to it. I cannot get the jackpot lights to work either way. The bulbs appear to be okay with unbroken filaments.

I looked but couldn't find a troubleshooting guide for the electrics, if someone could tell me or point me to it that would be great.

Also if I need to post this in a different section let me know as this is a little of the original course.

    Thanks

I don't really have anything in terms of electrics troubleshooting manuals.

Though you might want to check the switch. It might be either bent or the wire that activates it is in the wrong position.

Well let me tell you what I have done and see if anyone has suggestions.

I ran power to the terminals and got the ball empty light to work but not the jackpot lights. I also got it to work when I used alligator clips to directly power it. So that and the micro switch work.

I am trying the same thing with the JP lights, test them directly then move to the switch which is hard to reach. I am not sure good contact is being made with the soldered connections. Any advice would be great.

If I were to rewire is there an alternate to soldering like slide on terminal connections or ...

You should be able to take off the cover fairly easily. I think it should be held down with 2 nails and a screw. Take a pair of pliers and grab the nail heads and wiggle them out and take out the screw. You will have to move the cover around a bit before it will come off.

So that will give you better access to the switch. Sounds like the contacts just need to be cleaned probably. Easiest way is to take a piece of sand paper (about 220 grit) or use an emery board. Give that a try and if that doesn't fix it let us know.

Well after fooling around a bit more I got one of the jackpot lights to work,so the micro switch is okay and since it is the second in line power and connections from the terminal should be good. Tomorrow I will be able to get some contact cleaner on it see if that clears it up.

Don't know if that will do it but it is worth a try. Usually on the leaf switches the brass tends to tarnish blocking the current so you have to sand off the oxidation.

Just wanted to update this and let everyone know that I have the machine back up and running. All the mechs and lights are working. It has about 225 balls. Use as-is or a great starter for someone looking to get into the game..

I sold my machine locally, thanks to all and for all the great info. I refered the purchaser to the board telling him what a great resource it is.

Of course, the next day,as I was digging around in more of my folks treasure for the next project, I FOUND THE INSTRUCTIONS !
