Saw this the other day. Looks to be a cool lot. Though it is way overpriced, IMO.

I was thinking that I would pay up to $100 for a "new" vintage machine (if it were local to me). It would be a nice addition to my collection.

I have bought a few with boxes. The issue is what do you do with the box once you get it?

I had a box similar to this one. (300 balls instead of 400 balls.) But I cut out the art and framed it as the box itself has no meaning to me.

So to me a box doesn't mean much. It just takes up space. They are cool to see but pictures are enough.

Not Pachinkos. There was a reason everyone got rid of the boxes.

Disagree. After 30 years time, a "new" pachinko machine in the original bow (in good condition) is worth more than a machine in similar condition without the original box.

    You are correct, Luckydog!

I have to agree with Paul and Jeff on this one. I would certainly pay a bit more for one with the original box.

Well I would probably cut the picture out of the box but the box would go.

Obviously any vintage item that still retains some of it's original packaging is going to be more desirable than one of similar condition without the packaging.

I have an original vintage pachinko box stored away, although it doesn't have the cool colour picture on mine, and whilst the box doesn't add to the play value of a pachinko, it's still something really nice to have and throwing it away would be like destroying a piece of history to me.

Although I confess, I have thrown away some packaging off moderns, as this was just plain cardboard boxes, But I did retain the sanyo stamped glass protectors

btw I think $120 is a great price!!
