Picture of the plastic "pin" between "flipper" and "see saw mech" is the flipper to be above or below this pin?

For once I am confused. I'll have to look at a similar machine I have sitting out back.

I was close. I knew it had to be flipped around. Just didn't realize there was a pin that it could rest on.

So I was able to get the Sanyo (*showa51) working very smoothly. We have probably put at least 10,000 balls through it at least. My 3 year old daughter just loves it. My wife too. She is trying to figure out how and where we are going to mount it.
I find her just going to the family room and playing just to vege out a little. I think we all have the bug. It is pretty clean but I will go through and polish all the pins and clean it up a little more. I might add some additional lights later.

I moved onto the Sankyo(showa54) and that thing pretty much just needed to be cleaned up. What I thought was a scratched up piece of plexiglass was a brand new piece with he film still on it ;-)
I am now working on the lights and polishing up the brass pins.

I am having issues figuring out what the problem is with the lights. Both bulbs do work I tested them independently outside of the machine. I hook up the transformer or battery (which both work).
the out of balls light stays lite no matter if the the balls are in or not. The out of ball switch seems to work mechanically.
The jackpot light does not light regardless of the switch state. I sprayed some contact cleaner on both switches.

Now thinking about it maybe I need to polish the JP switch but not sure what to do with the out of ball switch. I might need to go to radio shack to get another one.

I have a plug that I am connecting my power two. It has a 4 female holed plug only three of which are uses (red, black, and white wires respectively) I am hooking my power up to the red and black wires. I tried different configurations with all the wires still nothing from the switches.
I am also looking for the part that keeps the balls from stacking while waiting in line for the jackpot unit. Anywhere you all look for parts? Does this forum do a classifieds section?

Also a couple of weekends ago I picked up 2 more machines. not as in good shape as the first three.

thanks again for any help. I will get pictures up soon.

    Hi.

Yes, Pachinko is addictive. Ask my friends and my cat!

On your electrical question, I would suggest the following:

    1. The issue is most likely corroded contacts on the leaf switch. You can verify this by using a continuity tester from each wire at the leaf switch back through each solder or contact point. This will insure that your wires are ok through each connection. If you remove the cover and carefully remove the leaf switch, an emory board and/or fine steel wool will quickly clean the contacts.

    2. Make sure that your wiring connection to the terminals above the fuse are correct.

Good luck and let us know!

You want the red and white wire. Check the white wire's push connectors for continuity.
It works the way it should with the red and black wire hooked up; so the problem is not the red wire.

Checked a Sankyo here, it is the red and white wires you want to connect to...

A lot of times I use LED bulbs instead of incandescent; then polarity does matter and there has not been much consistency with the factory wiring. Most times red is negative and white is positive. Sometimes each bulb holder is set up with different polarity, argh. You can bypass the fuse (cut it out of circuit) completely if you are using a battery; most problems I've run into on Sankyos' has been the fuse holder contacts. But in your case, hooking up the black and red wires shows that the red wire (fuse wire) is not the problem...

Forgot to add that member cardwii sells the lower ramp feed cover you are seeking... His web site is a great source for parts, stickers, backgrounds and everything vintage.

    Pachinko Restorations

I think you want this one, there are at least two different sankyo ones, so please check first...

Yeah the fuse was bad so I put another 1A in and still continuity was not good. It is definitely the fuse case messing things up. I will try to right it or take it out entirely.
I also removed the two switches and will clean them up to see what I get.
I will let you all know.
    Thanks again for the information.

If all you're running is two-three 6 volt light bulbs on batteries or wall wart you don't even need the fuse.
