    Default Side Tross

I have 2 side trosses on my vintage Nishijin Super Dx machine. I have been checking out other vintage machines and have yet to see these. Are they rare or am I just missing them?

The side tross on my machine is a ball opening that is triangular. When a ball goes down the center of my machine this " Side Tross" opens to allow a ball to come in it. After the ball comes in it it closes to no further allow balls to come in. I only know it is called side tross because it is printed on each one. If I can figure out how to attach a picture, I will send one along. I got a laugh on the replys. There are some witty people playing pachinko.

Boy did we not have a clue what it was, we could not even buy one!

    A side spring flipper ?

Tim has a question, we over looked in our zeal.
"I am getting some wear on the rubber stop at the top of the machine. The piece looks to be tacked in and it will need replaced in the future."

Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated gentlemen, can this piece be bought or made by hand ? Laz you have rebuilt these older models. And I think we have a rebuilder on the board, who this is his speciality.

Come on guy, let tross this aboutÂ…

Well now, that's an unusual one. Hmmm.... So how do you operate that side tross anyhow???

Also, can we get a closeup of the rubber bumper?

    Looks like a cool machine!!!

Are you sure it says SIDE TROSS?

When I enlarge the photo it looks more like 31CL.TROSS.

Could you look more closely, and is the wording the same on both sides of the play field?

What is the character in the middle, a cat?

I'm trying to see if there's a theme going with the game.

Is there any more wording on the play field?

Bilko44 and Slotter: It does say side tross on both. It opens up only if I put a ball in the top center hole. Once a ball goes into the side tross it closes up and will not allow any more balls until the center hole is hit again. Great eyes on picking out the cat. I did not notice that until I looked at the picture. When in real view it does not even look like a cat,but the picture definitely shows the cat. I am away from it now, but will check for further wording and I will send a picture to arbycoffee on the rubber stop. The theme is anybody's guess. Do the vintage machines all have themes or are some just equipped with neat and artistic designs? Since I have been searching for a machine I have yet to see this side tross which leads me to another question for you experienced players; Did some machines get more mass produced than others? And are there some very rare designs? Thanks for the input!

    Hey Pachinky,

While I have only owned two vintage machines, I saw a fair bunch of them back in the 1970s, and I never saw any with the Side Tross feature. I agree that it looks neat, and I would think you have a real keeper.

    Best wishes,
