Question Why do some modern pachinko conversions in USA feature mini-cords?

What I'm talking about is the conversion of the 120V transformers to 110v transformers : during that time (I assume), the owner cuts the feet long power cord, and replaces it with a fastened, 2 inch cord that barely clears the back of the wood cabinet. I'm sure you have at least a few of these in your collections.

My question is : why the HELL are they doing this? What power point do they think this will reach?

And if you're in my poisition, and trying to run a number of them off a power board, how the blazers am I expected to do so without adding BACK in an extension cord to the plug!!!

    frustrating...

I've wondered the same thing(and I live here...). But, if you have them mounted in a cabinet, it would save a bunch of cord wrapped up inside and make the switch out to other pachi's in the same cab pretty easy. Just sayin'. So besides ranting about transformers and power cords, are ya havin fun with your new(to you) toys? Now you need one of these to go with that Lucky Cat machine(and maybe that cat ashtray too):

I heard a rumor once that it was done in the hopes that one day it would infuriate Australians!!

    Seems to be working.

In all seriousness, I wondered the same thing, all of the electric Pachinko machines had really short cords with the exceptions of the Arrangeball and Computer Pachinko machines.

I cut all those short ones off and replace them with 3 wire grounded cords. Old computer cords work great!

Just my opinion... so the machine would never sit on top of the cord and fall over...
