    Default Sankyo machine

I am new here but have had this machine for roughly 20 years. I am trying to identify if the playing field is original or
a Franken-Mix. I have found similar Lady Bug backgrounds but cannot identify the "cat" or "mask in the center.
the expiration sticker is covered over and I will peel it back tonight to date it. Any body got an idea what I've got here?

    Welcome to Pachitalk!

Nice looking machine. I am sure someone will be along very soon who can help you identify it.

It was probably always like that. I have not found any rhyme or reason with most vintage machines, the backgrounds and center features don't seem to be coordinated.

That style of Sankyo tends to have VERY nice backgrounds that clean up well and don't usually have water damage. It also is a very reliable machine.

One exception would be the power flash which seem to be fairly consistent but there are at least two variations of the power flash.

Your machine has the hinged back mechanism, which is nice for clearing ball jams. It is green and there was a later version that was all clear. I have not seen a dust cover like yours where the balls are in your picture. It may be a clear piece that was broken or trimmed. (or just different)

Here are some other examples of similar machines in clear and green...

    nice looking Pachinko

i dont dare say no two are allike but finding twin pachinks is rare.. eary machines do not apper to have any sort of theme.. in the late 70's a few machines were made the same in theme's but in the early 80's it appers that theme machines are the norm..

    to Pachitalk.

No need to tear apart the sticker. The showa should be 52 meaning the build year is 1976.

I think I have seen that Cat (or Lion) center feature before and I have seen that background. It is actually kinda rare to see 2 machines exactly the same as they were built with whatever parts were laying around. So you will find machines with the same backgrounds but it might not have the same center feature.

Showa is the Japanese year. So the showa year of 52 is actually 1976.

I can tell your machine is 52 because of the format on the sticker.

    showa 52.jpg

If you look at the image I circled the showa in green. 52 stickers were either orange or blue. And it was always at the bottom.
