    Default Vintage Pachinko Machine - $65 (Lansing/Williamston)

Interesting tulip configuration on this machine.

    Very odd.

I also think the lower tray has been replaced. As it don't look like the right one to me. I think it got the tulips and the tray done when it was "refurbished."

    100 machines and counting...

You know, just because you have never seen it doesn't mean it could never have happened

Unless of course you were in the factory assembling them when they were being built

Our vintage knowledge here is based on the limited amount of pachinkos that actually made it out of Japan, the limited amount that have survived, and the limited amount that are documented on the WWW

Who's to say they didn't have a supply problem and had to source elsewhere at some point, even for just a brief couple of weeks?

Well that could be one possibility. However, if you notice the impression on the ashtray it has a U in it. So that tells me it is wrong. I mean if they did source another tray they would most likely get one without someone else brand stamped in it. I forget what brand used the U but I'm sure they had no relation to Sankyo at all.

I mean is it factory... No. But is it still a part from the right time period... Yes.

Still at least either way the machine should function properly. (as long as the back side is fine.)

I think a lot of palours did their own repairs or had a serviceman available to repair them.

much cheaper for smaller palours to jerryrig a broken machine, rather then buy a new one.

a broken pachinko isn't bringing in any cash!!!

Interesting discussion. One thing Ive realized after trying to find out info on pachinkos is that the info is spotty at best and there's just not enough data to make many hard and fast conclusions.

So, are you saying the ash tray is incorrect or the whole lower tray? The ash tray seems to match the lower tray. As far as the tulips...probably original. Cutting holes in the cell to add tulips is not impossible...but most people would botch the job! Looks like they did a good job, if added later.
