I think he may have the speed of feeding balls covered with his new motor.

Probably but still faster is better. Especially for the moderns.

    100 machines and counting...

Been thinking about the weight pushing down, How about instead of a sprung ball, You flatten the top surface so it pushes down and doesn't push in. Sort of like a triangle shape

Sorry DC I don't understand what you mean ...the top surface of what?

I just tested the output at 32" rise . I am running 24 volts and moving 140 balls a minute up. Now that I am feeding really nicely I can possibly run more voltage.

I wish I had a variable dc source, used to have access to one I would crank it up until it failed.

One thing I am not clear about is how many balls does an upper hopper hold and how many could you expect to win a minute for how long?

Now remember I am really ignorant about pachinkos in general (me) I have examined a total of one early 1990's machine!

What seems to me to be important is how many balls on average you will need to feed to the top. Do some of these machines release a whole bunch of balls at once from the pay hopper to the field during a bonus ? The $54 question is. How many balls a minute do we really need to pump to make sure the payout hopper always has enough to pay a bonus assuming we can start with it full or mostly full?

A big Thanks for your help and input gentlemen !

you can win more than 140 balls a minute each fever round and there are 15 rounds in a fever.

i never timed how long the fever door stays open each round.

on a lot of machine you can go right into more fevers in a row.

the only real way to test it would be during a fever

A fever round...I cannot find a definition here... do balls get released from the pay hopper to the playing field during a fever round?

    thanks

fever round (sankyo name for jackpot, But everyone here uses the word Fever) Jackpot, Ootari, new Heiwa use the pachislo phrases of Bouns and Big Bonus as well
Matching your 3 numbers on the digital slot reels on the modern pachis.

I thought the fever door opens for a certain amount of balls to enter per round ie 8. total amount won during a fever 8 x 15 x 15 = 1800

Plus over small wins. Those 1800 balls would get paid out of the rear tank straight to the front trays not the playfield.

I would say rear storage is about 700-1000 balls

I done a quick pic. showing a ball on a spring with an adjustable grub screw to increase or decrease the tension or a wedge shaped pawn on a spring.

Thank you for taking the time with the drawing , now I see what you are getting at. That's a very creative idea ! i need to think about that!

Let's get back to ball output for a second , if we start with 1000 and need to make up 800 1800 -1000, I can make that up in 6 minutes. as long as we have 6 minutes in this fever mode, we are fine. So do we have that much time? The question is, what are you doing now when you play a machine without a loader and you hit a fever?

    the two handed shuffle

stop shooting when fever door closes, reach around and grab spent ball container, dump it in top real hopper, replace ball container and start shooting again

on my paint tray mod cabinets spent balls go to the front into paint tray, then as i'm shooting i grab handfulls and dump them in the back top tray

I do work up a fever with all the ball handling

a standard top hopper will hold right at 1000 balls.. your going to have to have a perty good lifter to keep it full during a Fever..

but if you make a cabinet that holds extra balls then your golden...

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If it were mine i would build a larger top hopper and then make a way to put winnings back into the lifter with ease.. a few member have created ball counters.. well how about add a ball counter to count balls that are won and then feed back into the lifter system..

put a track under the bottom front hopper so balls dumped would be counted and then passed to the lifter.. then back to the large top hopper for more play..

    just my 2 cents

Well, I just snapped (4) 9 volts in series and ran 36 volts to the motor and it held up at a calculated 210 bpm ... that's unexpected !

I still haven't reached the speed limit where the ball cannot get into the chamber fast enough !

So after hooking up the lifter to my machine it wasn't very long until all my 400 or so balls were in the top payout tray. Now I think I will just hook another push button switch to one of the tulip switches to dispense balls when I run out. Does that makes sense?

IMG_0862.jpgMy one and only machine is this older early 90's Hanemono

When I bought it, it was modified as a partial cyclic with lost balls fed back to the shooter tray, I changed it back to stock.

Seems to me one of the fun parts of playing this is being rewarded by hearing and seeing the balls come rushing into your tray when you win, especially when you are down to just a few balls left. "I'm still alive !" I think you need to keep the machine stock to enjoy that , however, a ball lifter enables you to have that plus
the ability to keep on playing without ever messing around in the back (assuming you can dispense balls from the front) . So this has to be the best of both worlds right?

Makes sense to me. You can always remove the modification if it takes away from the gameplay.
