    Now this is in a sorry state. Missing the wooden frame, and heavy rust, But do love the paintings on the pockets

    1000 yen start price.

    Do you think those are the original pocket covers or were they added later?

    I would say, they are probably original, as that seems to be the norm on machines of that era.

    1940s pachinko photos I would love to have sonething like that!

    I have both seen and briefly played sharmoni's 1940-ish Pachinko machine. Those pocket covers ARE original. They are the front of the actual pocket, not a "cover". I think it's just the way pockets were constructed back then.

    Yep. Fold a sheet of metal to make almost a complete cube and then solder / weld a face plate on it. And then paint it to add a little decor to the machine.
