Default Thinking of adding Handle pulls to my pachislos

I have been wrestling with the idea of putting IGT handle pulls on my two pachislos. My machines are Spin Luck and Tomb Raider.

This is the handle assembly I am considering:

IGT S2000 HANDLE BOX ASSEMBLY | eBay

I like the idea of the handle but the purist in me doesn't like the idea of modifying the machines.

I think I am just looking for other member's opinions.

Maybe I should do a poll.

The way I look at mod's is, "To each his own". Some like auto stop, toppers, cabinet graphics and list goes on and on. If you think you want a slot machine arm, "Go for it!".

As far as the IGT arm, that would be the arm of choice, in my opinion. Whether or not I would do it, or if anyone else would, really wouldn't matter to me.

To me, these are great machines to "tinker around with" and any mod. ,done correctly, wouldn't take away from the the machine in my opinion.

P.S. (That's a great price on those IGT arms.)

I think I may do the Tomb Raider first. I am having a hard time with modding a Spin Luck.

From what i hear, an IGT arm takes a little planning. The cabinet thickness between the IGT machines and Pachislo are different. IGT cabinets are metal and a lot thinner, than the wood cabinet of a Pachislo. I know what others have done and that is cut a hole in the cabinet, large enough to install a mounting plate for the arm to mount.
So, I would maybe do a test run on a piece of scrap wood first, before cutting open the side of my machine.

Cutting open the side of a Spin Luck would be a little hard for me.

The cutting is what bothers me too. I know I could take the arm back off later but then there is the hole!!

I wouldn't have a problem adding handles to any of my machines if that's what I wanted.

The main concern, for me, would be that once you add a handle, you have to allow clearance space for the handle operation. If you've got the room to spread them out, then go for it!

As for mine, they're packed like sardines.

As Paul said. You can always remove the handle later and patch it up. I've used Plastic Wood (from DAP) on several machines with good results.

I have plenty of room for the handles. I think I may move forward on the Tomb Raider and then see how I like it before cutting into my Spin Luck.

I would personally NOT install one on the spin luck. I think it would definitely take away from the resale value. That being said, I can help you with anything you need about installing and wiring one up

I have considered that same handle for my Lucky Cherry!lucky cherry 028.jpg I doubt it has any value...but I like it. Maybe a max bet mod to allow it to bet and spin with one pull. And an Autostop with credit add. I would generally disable the Autostop and have it primarily to add credits because I don't have a door key, but I like that it can be turned on or off!
As for SpinLuck...me, I would not add a handle. Yes it would hurt the value of the machine, but you are very unlikely to sell it. (unless you were to sell it to me, of course!) Just seems wrong. Like putting a Superbird wing on a classic Corvette!

I have a pachislo with an 'IGT' arm fitted and an Auto-stop too I think,

Although I didn't fit them myself, so I can't offer advice on fitting

'Betty Boop' is a bit hard to find over here and so I bought the one Doc offered me quite a few years back and this is how it came to me,

I must say I'm personally not a great lover of the pull arm feature generally, but it is the only one in my collection and so very different and although currently in storage, it does attract attention when it's set up to play. Especially with that large light up topper

    betty boop.jpg

My advice is, if it's what you want and you feel it will add a difference to your collection or play value, then go for it

I think it's probably very sensible to leave Spin Luck alone though, and practice any 'surgery' on 'Tomb Raider' and who knows, you may even want to source a themed topper too?

I think if it makes the game play more fun and the asthetics are more atractive to your game room,go for it. You should be able to find a hole saw bit to fit the exact size of handle shaft so minimum hole drilling is needed.I think a pull handle on spin luck would look awsome myself ,because spin luck looks so mush like a vegas slot anyway. As long as the front of the machine is not altered or the lighting or game play changed no value is lost. This is just my opinion

The easiest way to do it is with a plunge router. Since you have to drill a hole as well as a recess.

is it wired to the max bet button as well as the start lever, or is it still a two function action.

I would expect it is 2 function action that would be fairly easy to add the max bet to. They are for modern IGT slot machines. We are just using them on the "wrong" machines. I don't have one, but the price has me considering it!

    would need:

    one handle
one autostop board (speak to newintown on the boards for one)
one microswitch (same type as your max bet button)

wire up your autostop board to your stop board
wire up your handle to the play lever
figure some way to have the maxbet microwitch to be triggered BEFORE the spin microswitch and wire it to your maxbet button
    Have a nice day
