So out of curiosity. If you don't mind of course. What was the price tag on that mighty fine automobile..

Well, here's the story...The car was purchased new at a Chrysler/Plymouth/Dodge dealeship in Center Point, Iowa. The man who bought the car was named Melvin. Melvin loved that car to death...literally. He owned the car till he died at the age of 89. He kept he car in meticulous running condition as documented with regular service records. The car has 123,866 miles yet runs like it has 23,866 miles. His kids nicknamed the car "Mel" after their dad. When Melvin died, his widow wasn't interested in keeping the car as she didn't drive and wasn't about to learn at her age. The car ended up in Ohio where one of his daughters lives. She had the car for a short period of time before she decided to sell "Mel". Now the car isn't perfect...it has a small dent by the left rear bumper (which I'm in the process of pounding out), There is a six inch tear in the headliner and a rust spot at the bottom of the left front quarter panel. The paint is a little thin in a few spots on the hood...probably from Melvin's constant buffing. But, prior to me buying the car, the car had just been serviced with a new tune up and oil change along with new brakes four new tires and a new battery. I low balled with an offer of $1500 which was turned down. I jumped the offer up to $2500 cash deal which after a lot of him-hawing was accepted on the condition I would continue to call the car "Mel.
