My kid slap it...My wife pushes it (Don't ask, I always have to correct her!) And I have to keep tightening the knob because it is alway about to unscrew off!!

I voted downward, but I sometimes hit upward's. I suppose it depends on my mood.

As of right now all of mine only go down. but I'm sure if they went other ways I went do it from time to time just to be doing something different...
