Congrats on your decision to take that first step! Keep in mind that it's a slippery slope, though.

Most all of the machines produced in that era were essentially the same; they just came with different themes and win pocket arrangements. I personally like that era of machine, however it really is a personal decision for everyone. If the cost is reasonable, I would recommend you get it and play it for a while to see if it "clicks" with you (you could always sell it if it doesn't). Some on this site started out with vintage machines like this one and later found they liked/preferred newer machines. Some were opposite that. Again, it's really up to you and your personal taste.

With regard to buying that machine, I would suggest you request close up pics of the front and back, then post them here and let us take a look to see if anything is broken or missing. Also, ask the seller if there are any balls that come with the machine. A model 'B' machine like that one will need a minimum of 500 balls to work correctly, but you will want at least 1,000 for continuous play without reloading the upper jackpot hopper every 4-5 jackpots.

    Good Luck!

Thanks for the info, unfortunately it has just five balls! The price is right and I already had $10 worth of fun trying to find what it was so i should be ok!

I'll post some pics after I pick it up and I promise not to buy anymore

Nice looking machine! Even has a cabinet for it! Post some pics of the back, get some more balls, and we can get ya going! If you paid $10, you can't go wrong. 3 tulips and those cool other two! How do they work? Looks like they rotate. Way cool looking machine. Make sure you check out Mopars Model B video. Model B Video It will help you make sense out of all that "Rube Goldberg" looking stuff!

    Hello!!

Wow $10 is such a steal!! (I'm in the UK so I cry every time I see these bargains over there )

Congratulations it will make an awesome addition to your collection.

A lot of the members here have a mix of Pachislo, Vintage and Modern Pachinkos

Because it's so nice to have a variety of different pachi toys to play, they all offer something different

well.. I go to pick it up today was in the area and finally get a hold of the seller who calmly and without remorse informs me 'I've changed my mind about

    selling it"

I was so surprised I simply responded , "that's great, thanks" and hung up!

Well thank you all for all the good wishes and help but it's now clear, for better or worse, I shall live yet another day pachinkoless.
