Default Would a blacklight fade the colors on a machine?

After constantly seeing fluorescent (or neon) colors featured on so many machines (modern and vintage) I hounded up a decent blacklight(tube style),
after doing a little research, it seems that they may be able to fade the colors of artwork over a period of time since its a form of UV light.
Do, or did parlors ever used blacklights in their establishments? Or are these colors just for pop in normal light?
My first inclination is to ditch using it at all (even though it made everything look awesome! ), but was wondering if anyone here knows more about this or researched it better

I have thought of doing the same thing. I wasn't aware of the potential for fading the colors though. I will be very interested to hear if someone knows more about this.

I have a blacklight in my basement, but have not turned it on, I thought about it to see if any of the colors would stand out. I highly doubt that limited use of a blacklight would fade the colors on a machine. It's not like you keep a blacklight on 24/7, I wouldn't worry about fading. Sunlight has a much broader UV spectrum than a blacklight.

I don't think a blacklight would fade colors any more than a normal fluorescent lamp.Black lights are basically just phosphore coated glass that illuminates in that light wavelength.
