Default Input voltage for fluorescent light coverter board

I'm hoping someone with a Kitac Slot machine from the year 2000 can help me. I have a Kitac Wonder review that does not have a main CPU board. I will probably never get it playing again, but I would like to light up the fluorescent bulbs behind the glass.

There is a small circuit board where all of the wires for the bulbs come from. There is also a small plug with 2 wires going into this board. Any idea what the voltage should be going into this converter board? I will just find a small power supply and feed it into this input if I know what the voltage should be.

A user manual in pdf form would be a HUGE help.

    Thanks
    George

To be honest, I don't know what a Kitac Slot machine is. Can you get any of the bulbs out? Usually, the voltage is printed on the bulb.

If you could post a picture of the small circuit board someone might be able to help. Maybe.

    Hi Carl,

Thanks for the reply. Kitac is the manufacture, and "Wonder Review" is the model of the slot machine. I know what the output voltage should be for the bulbs, but I need to find out the input voltage of this little board. The little board has two wires for the input, and many wires for the output to power the bulbs.

I'm probably posting this question in the wrong forum. I just noticed this forum is not for Pachislo slot machines but rather Pachinko.

    Sorry guys,

    George

Just a quick update on the fluorescent bulb converter board input voltage. I traced back the wires that are going to the input of this board. I wanted to see if the red wire was feeding anything else on any of the other boards in the slot machine. Turns out it feeds the 24 volt incandescent bulbs also!

So now I know the input voltage to the converter board is 24 volts DC.

I connected a 18 volt laptop power supply to the input connector and the two large fluorescent bulbs lit but they are flashing on and off every second. Probably because the voltage is too low for the circuit to work properly.

The Top and Bottom marque glass is suppose to stay lit right?

Thanks again for your help and support. I will post pictures when I find a solid 24 volt power supply. I may have to tap out of the existing supply in the machine.

I measured the voltages on the wiring harness coming from the original power supply in the Slot Machine. I saw the +5v +12v and +24v

I tapped into the +24v and ran the wires to the input of the fluorescent bulb converter board. When I powered up the machine, both bulbs came on and stayed on for five seconds, then shut off. I turned off the machine and let it rest for a minute and tried it again. Got the same results.

I believe since the power supply wiring harness is not connected to a mother board, there is no load on the +5v or the +12v and the power supply is automatically shutting down. I will either need to put a dummy load on those lines, or buy a dedicated +24v power supply.

For the Five seconds the lights were on, it was a beautiful sight.
