    Default Casting new parts

I started casting on nishijin model B seesaw covers. First one out of mold and almost can't tell from original.

Also casting lower track covers for Sankyo yellow back, and nishijin model C machines. Will post photos when they are ready.

Does that mold require a vacuum? It does look better than the original! Not yellowed or cloudy!

Making the mold, I needed a vacuum chamber. I used an old seal-a-meal I got at a garage sale. It came with it's own chamber for canning. Also needed a pressure chamber for when I cast the part. I used an old pressure cooker I got at a flea market. I hooked it to my air compressor. "Just keep the PSI under 25lb." Demold time is 6 hours, so it is slow going, but once I pour and put in pressure chamber, I can go do something else for 6 hours.

I have thought of using an old pressure cooker as a pressure pot. I just haven't been able to find any at a reasonable price. It would seem easy to take and just screw an air chuck into the lid and make it work like that.

I haven't used a vaccum yet. I truthfully havn't really found the need for it. I am able to make what I have work great.

Can't wait to see the new parts.

Well I have started to make the rebound bumpers myself. (mainly because I need a lot of them.) I think you should try that. I see many machine that are in need of those.

decorative pieces, spinners, ball feed, supply tray, and pockets! I'm going to be casting some of my own parts as well so I'm saving my plastic bottles and such so I can melt them down. need a lot of custom parts for the machine I'm tryin to make. patient is a virtue however..
