As member luckydog says, Pachislos were designed and made to be played in the Japanese Parlours, so the vast majority of them have Japanese speech and text.

There are a handful of pachislos that do have some English speech though, I think ones like 'Spin Luck' which is a more Americanised theme.

Generally, I've found that just by playing a pachislo you can familiarise yourself with the gameplay and what is going on with the game, and find that the Japanese is not a problem.
