Default Terminator 2004 - Installing Volume Controls + Misc Questions

Just picked up a Terminator 2004 machine. (The one with the video screen.) Since it was insanely loud I decided to put volume controls on it. I purchased three 500K ohm potentiometers, one for each speaker.

I installed the first control to the yellow wire on the bottom speaker:

For some reason, just installing the one potentiometer seems to be controlling the volume for all three speakers. Is this normal? I was under the impression each speaker should have its own potentiometer.

For frame of reference, here's what the back of the door looks like:

Additionally, if any other Terminator owners are able to answer the following, I'd appreciate it:

    1. Does this game have a way to toggle between Credit and Cash Mode? I know not every Pachislo has this ability, but I haven't been able to confirm if there is a way to toggle it to Cash Mode.

    2. How do 1 and 2 Bet work? I fill the machine with 50 credits, push 1 or 2 Bet and the corresponding lights illuminate beside the credit display, but pushing the knob doesn't start the reels. Max Bet always seems to work fine, though.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello

Sorry I can't help with the Volume Controls

But regarding the 2004 Terminator, I believe this model is a Max Bet ONLY machine

Most pachislos are generally Max Bet only machines, even though sometimes the writing on them would lead you to believe otherwise (I think it's accepted that the manufacturers use the same casings for different models)

Most older pachislos are of the 1,2 3 token bet variety, but more modern ones are Max bet only, although there are a few exceptions every now and then

Yes, I'd heard that a lot of the times the frames are basically stock used for all different models.

The only thing is, the front of the machine has these corresponding lights for 1 and 2 Bet:

So I can push those gray buttons and the lights above turn on, which led me to believe 1 and 2 bet were functional?

Again, maybe that doesn't mean anything since as mentioned frames are used across multiple models.

Is the yellow wire jumped to each speaker, or are there seperate wires to each speaker.

Each speaker has both a yellow and white wire coming out of it. Each yellow+white wire set connect via different points into the circuit board that sits behind the screen at the top of the door frame.

Going on that, it appears to be separate wires to each speaker?

Each speaker is connected to their own output.I don't know why the volume is dropping for all the speakers Maybe somehow the pot is adding extra resistance to the main volume switch.

I suppose regardless of why it's magically controlling all the speakers, is this something I should be concerned about? Is there any chance of this causing any issues to any of the circuit boards or speakers themselves?

I've only had the machine about 3 days now. I put the potentiometer on the same day I got it. I haven't noticed any issues, but I just want to make sure long term.
