Default If I wanted to install a 12 volt led light strip where would I start?

My idea is to light the front of my reels with a blue 12 volt led light strip by splicing it into a current power source, where would I start? Are there any alternatives on the cheap to wire into the power converter?

The light strip that I have in mind is about 10 inches long, and would stick to the back of the upper light shroud.
    Something similar to this
Walmart.com: Custom Accessories 15" Crystal LED Light Bar, Blue, 2pk: Automotive
    or this
Walmart.com: CIPA EVO Formance 15" LED Ultrabrights, Blue: Automotive

Here are some I have in my camper

Maybe use something like this and wire directly into the output of the power converter?

You would need a power supply that is 110 -to 12 volts. radeo shack sells them i believe . Just connect to the plug line in to the machine with an on off switch.

Well here is my modification. I used a 15" blue LED strip that I already had in my camper (these are the ones in the auto dept at Walmart used for trim in a car), I think I paid like $12 for two of them and I only used one. Then I re-purposed a 120 volt to 12 DC charger from an old remote control car. I spliced the LED to the plug and installed it. Looks pretty good, I was hoping for a little more light but when the white fluorescent is on it drowns out the blue. However, on this machine, when it goes into a challenge type mod the upper LED shuts off, and the blue stays on which is the effect I was hoping for. The mini challenge mode happens about an average of every 10-15 spins or so, it is a pretty cool effect. The mod is easily reversible and requires the second plug which is no big deal. Whatcha think with spare parts?
