Default Kyoraku L77 Ultraman Pachinko Machine - NEED HELP PLEASE

I was just given a Kyoraku L77 Pachinko Machine. I love the machine but it doesn't seem to work. I'm assuming that there is something wrong although it may just be something very simple. I purchased some balls and have put them in the rear tray as well as the in the front tray. The knob does nothing when I turn it. Am I missing something?

When I look at the back of the machine, the far right ERROR indicator is flashing. I'm trying to determine what that indicator is telling me. I've read a couple posts about adding a card reader dongle and jumping PC3 relay but I'm not sure that is what is necessary.

    Any ideas?

You need a dongle. That's what's missing from the 25pin D connector in the top right of the first pick.

PM my you address. I'll probably have a spare laying around that I can send you. This is of course if you give me first dibs if you decide to sell.

    Hi There

    Welcome to PachiTalk

The majority of pachinko firing problems are usually caused by lack of a 'dongle' or one that has become unseated and needs unplugging and replugging or just jiggling about.

Most modern pachinkos are 'CR' (Card Reader) versions and require a 'dongle' (usually denoted by 2 buttons on the front tray)

I can't see a dongle in your pics, perhaps it is missing??

Here's a link to a post that explains a bit more

Maybe a dumb question, but getting the game started?

and also a link to a guide that may be of assistance to you too

Thank you everyone for such a quick response. You guys rock! Here is a picture of the front of the machine (as you can tell I'm no photographer). It does run in a demo (or I suppose you would say "Attract Mode") w/ sound and images. If I place a ball into the slots it will rack up win numbers and I can have it pay out. I tried to temporarily jump the PC3 terminals but nothing seemed to happen with that. I believe the one error light translated is "No Pachinko Ball / Ball Jam" Thank you monkeyboy for the kind offer.

    Andy.

His Pachi may have the "Solder Blob" installed that bypasses the Dongle as it did in mine an a couple of other Members 9 Drums. We need to do some Digging into his Pachi. Here is the Thread I posted about this.

    http://www.pachitalk.com/forums/pach...ut-dongle.html

Need to translate the error codes on the Led's and see what's set.

Way past my bed time. Have to hit the Hay . . .

As far as the LED error codes go this is what I got from my friends parents who translated the writing for me:
    READING RIGHT TO LEFT:
No Pachinko Ball / Ball Jam (*This is the one that blinks)
    Payback Error
    Total Switch Short
    Counter Case Open
    Payback Indicator

I forgot to mention that I removed the PC Board pictured above and did not see any solder jumps.

So much for Sleep. Power is out here right now and I do not want to shut the eyes with the Generator Running. Ran a line over to a neighbours house to keep the fridge cold and TV on.

There are two Pay Out motors on the back of the Machine. One for regular Play and ond Kicks in for Bonus Rounds. The Top motor you can see the flow of Sphere's from the rear channel (which there are three) that flow from the upper ball hopper. Make sure spheres are running down to the top of the motor. Also check all three chanels to make sure Sphere's are loaded into them a far as you can see. I have the orange covers off of both motors.

The other two channels (middle and forward) flow to the bottom motor which is for the Bonus rounds.

Can't take pictures other than the one's I posted due to a phase going out in the Generator that powers the Game room. When all is back up and running I will take more detailed Pic's.

When you turn the Shooter knob do you hear a THUNK, THUNK, THUNK? If so then you have the "SOLDER BLOB" which will bypass the Dongle. Your issue is with a sense switch which is not activating below the upper hopper which tells the Pachi that the hopper is full of Sphere's.

    100_3044 a.jpg 100_3045 a.jpg 100_3043 A.jpg

The first Pic shows a Yellow Arrow. If this Arrow is moved to the right ALL the Sphere's in the Hopper upper will dump to the bottom of the Pachi. Then two black levers will have to be pushed down in order to push the lever back to the left.

You need the dongle, and a reset wouldn't hurt either

I would like to thank everyone out there for all their support. My friend build me a dongle and the machine works GREAT!

I have 1000 spheres and I can see where I'm going to need to build myself a reloader next (but first a base for the machine)
    :-)
