Default Am I seeing a wet playfield here?

So this may not be in the right section, but I am curious. In this Craigslist ad, it seems to be that the playfield areas around the nails seem stained and swollen from water damage... Am I right, wrong, or is the picture not good enough to tell?

Just trying to educate myself more so I don't waste time running down duds. Thanks!

(For the record, I do believe it's overpriced, water damage or no)

Yes thats water damage..Usually doesn't affect game play..So if it was cheap enough or a game you really want, don't count out a machine just because of water stains on the cell..Because fun can still be had and if wanted playfields can be replaced..

Just a pic for future reference..

Thanks! I would have thought the swelling if the cel would interfere with the ball travel.

    Its usually just discoloration..

Of course you should realise your listening to a modern pachi guy, so for conformation on anything I say about vintages its best to always wait for one of the many crazy vintage people we have that hang around these parts to also answer..And while the may be crazy, they are smart enough to be sleeping at this time of night so you may have to wait a few hours!!

I'm up. It's as luckydog said and as a result, many vintages have stains. I've only seen a couple where the cel was lifting from an excessive amount of water. Almost always just cosmetic but unfortunately can't be removed from a cel. It also demonstrates the fact that no liquid cleaners should be sprayed directly on the playfield.

That thing is water stained bad. Though the water stain just affects appearance. It does nothing to game play. The price is high on that machine. Most I would pay for one in that shape would be about $20. Though it has the tiki center feature. And from my point of view it makes it worth a little more to me. (I love tikis so it means more to me. That is why my tiki machine is my avatar. )

    100 machines and counting...
