hello fom Tucson AZ need info on taiyo Twin Surfer

Hello everybody! I recently bought a "Twin surfer" Pachislo machine. I found it at a thrift store, not working, but the lights came on when plugged in. I got the machine home and found the payout hopper was crudely dismantled (looks like done with a sawzall or something). Due to my ability to repair vintage radios, and amateur silversmith skills, I was able to restore the hopper and get the machine back into perfect working order. My problem is, I don't know what any of the switches on the inside do, other than the one rocker switch that purges the hopper. I hope that one of the two other switches present controls the pay out percentage, since it is WAY to easy to hit the BB pay out. (If you play for an hour you WILL hit the triple 7 bonus!) Also although my family and I have ALL hit the jackpot, none of us has ever hit the double bar regular bonus. PLEASE HELP! If I am ever able to re sell this machine it must have a more realistic pay schedule, and since all the switches are labeled in Japanese I have no idea what the settings should be. I should probably mention, for you experts out there,I am aware now I may not make a profit on this restoration, because my start cost was $100! But, the machine is cosmetically perfect (almost). Plus I had a lot of fun restoring the pay out mechanism. Now if only I knew how to adjust the pays and plays, I'd have a great fun machine!

Pictures of the machine inside and out will help with guiding you on setting the odds. (plus we love pictures!!!)

If your machine is like mine the process for setting the odds is as follows:

There should either be a key or toggle switch inside the machine.

Turn off the machine and put the switch in the "on" position.

Turn the machine back on and a number between 1-6 should be displayed on the credit meter. One of my machines displays this on a display on the back of the front door.

Now use the reset button to change this setting, 6 being the highest payout setting. Once you find your desired setting press the spin lever to set the odds.

Now switch the key or toggle switch to the "off" position. and you should be all set.

I was given the following as the approximate odds per setting level when I asked the same question about a year ago:

Level 1 = 65 - 67%
Level 2 = 72 - 74%
Level 3 = 79 - 81%
Level 4 = 88 - 95%
Level 5 = 105 - 107%
Level 6 = 115 - 125%

I hope this helps. You have certainly found the right place for help and advice on your machine. I am sure there will be others along shortly who can offer even better advice.

The only info I can find at the moment is that Twin Surfer was manufactured by Taiyo around 1999?, but I'm sure any of our members with this one will pop in to offer more specific info for you
