Default 2006 Okuruma CR解体屋ゲン has arrived!!!

    Hi pachi people,

    This machine just arrived.

Picture of the box!!! And the envelope on top is from Raymond here on pachitalk!!!

    DSCN0496.jpgDSCN0500.jpgDSCN0501.jpgDSCN0498.jpgDSCN0499.jpg

Awwww, sad kim, the inside glass is broken. UPS failed to pay attention to either the "This side UP" or "Fragile Instructions.

Raymond, the key works perfect. Thank you.

I am now cleaning broken glass out, contacted the seller about a UPS claim to be filed so then I can get the glass replaced.

And there was one lone pachinko ball stuck to the packing tape inside the box. (not pictured)

I need glass and balls now.

Shame about the glass. A piece of bubble wrap just doesn't cut it when shipping pachinkos.

Pictures of the back for help finding stuff. I found the on off switch. Right hand near the bottom. I also dropped a ball into the middle pocket, it triggered the animations correctly and was supra loud. now to locate the sound control or start disconnecting speakers.

That is a shame about the glass.
You waited all this time for a machine to play and now you have to wait for some glass.

    Woo Hoo!!

    Congratulations!!

it is a shame about the glass, it does seem to be the main hazard of shipping a pachinko, but hopefully you can quickly get a replacement for it

and then the real fun begins

That sucks about the glass is it a sealed shaped double glazed one or two single square pieces. Moderns normally have a round piece bonded to a plastic mount. But my Cutie Honey still has the 2 individual square pieces.

Either way. If you Unclip it from the frame and take it to a good local glazers or mirror cutter they should be able to cut a new one and if needed bond it on. Especially if UPS are paying.

Man that machine wasn't boxed the best. He did a good job with the block of wood to hold it off its back but not so good on the front. A single piece of bubble just isn't enough. I personally use a ton of sheet styro-foam to act as supports to hold everything in place. And wrap the whole machine (yes all the way around) in 2-3 layers of bubble. Then set it in the box on a sheet of foam. then pile packing peanuts and mini air bags on the front. and then another sheet of foam. All said in done I probably spend close to $25 on materials for packaging on each machine. But it is better to over pack than not have enough and have the buyer complain.

(I'll eventually do a write up on how I box a machine. Might do it tomorrow if I have some time.)

Hope everything will work out smooth for you Kim.

Yea it seems pretty obvious to me on the proper way to pack a machine, but some people just trust that the shipping agencies will follow instructions that are clearly labelled on the box. Oh well. I got a new piece of glass cut, $30. The seller filed the UPS claim, and UPS will be contacting me soon to reimburse me. I have begun bidding on pachinko ball auctions.

$30 sounds very reasonable for the glass

I suppose things like this are all part of the pachinko adventure, you've got to have a few little lows along the way,

to then fully appreciate the awesomeness of Pachinko!!

Hopefully you'll be up and running in no time

Update, I managed to get all the remaining glass bits out, and the glue out from the frame. I have glued the new piece of glass in place using clear silicone caulk and a a very heavy book to keep pressure on it.

Here is a picture of the machine after just being turned on.

I have bought 1000 pachinko balls, and they should be here in a few days so I can really begin testing it out. The error code on the back currently displays Error 1. I assume being the first error it means something simple like "no balls"

Adding balls should take care of the error. The machine is looking good. I am looking forward to seeing how the cabinet turns out.

While I was cleaning the machine I found the actual problem with the shooter not being fed balls.

Someone had rolled up two small pieces of paper and shoved them into the front ball feeder. One piece says "ro", the other piece says "Po pt"

It feeds balls to the shooter just fine now.

Get some volume controls. Use something to muffle the sound until they are installed. I haven't heard of it happening to a pachi...but I have heard of amplifier damage to stereos & especially guitar amps when the wrong impedance (ohms) speakers are used. Unplugging them would equal zero ohms...just don't sound like a good idea to me. Maybe someone with more electronic knowledge can shed some light on this matter.
